View Full Version : Isn't it amazing what Google can find?

Through randomly searching on Google the other day, I stumbled upon this.

It's a page on the 'Nobuko Sakayori' Doll Collection, and they've produced two special renditions of Lara from the first TR movie! In her Cambodia & Siberia outfits.
I think there was an auction for each of them in Nov 2004, and it looks to me they made only a single piece of the two versions. Each sold for around $1500!

They do look beautiful. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif [apart from the holsters, definately something wrong there lol].
Has anyone seen something like this before?
I know there's custom made stuff around on eBay now and then.

Those dolls are beautiful! Yes, you're right though, the holsters... Hmm... LOL. Wow, they auctioned off at over $1,000! That's amazing. It is interesting what Google can find! Thanks for posting! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

Wow! Now that's some business! As far as I understood he uses a common doll as a base and then repaints them and reroots the hair and adds custom made clothing. I would love to know his techniques and sell dolls like these.

But wouldn't these require some licensing from Eidos or something?

I think they're really well done.
But I wanted to see what you'd think of them. ;) And also if anyone had heard of them before.

Do you guys take it they only make one of each? If they do, I think that's a shame.
It doesn't look like some big company to me, but I'm not sure.
I don't have a clue about what does or what doesn't require licensing Gomes. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

I love those dolls, very stylized!

The lips look great, it's obvious they have used Angelina as an inspiration for the way the dolls look.
