View Full Version : Favourite foods...
Just wondering what is YOUR favourite dish of all time? I'm definately of the opinion you don't have to be a glutton to enjoy your food, or cooking for that matter. It's soooo hard to choose though!
For me, anything Italian, Indian or Chinese does fine :D . However, on cold wet days nothing beats LOBBY (family invention - thick, hot vegetable soup that you leave cooking for the whole afternoon. The smell and warmth means lobby isn't just soul food - it's an experience to last all day http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/thumb.gif )
I prefer Mexican foods, like Tacos. Yummy. :D
Hmmmmmmmmm, i love all types of food, but to be more specific.

I know what you mean Greenkey. Mine is like Lobby. I don't know whether it is strictly Australian but I love Oxtail Soup. Start it the day before and gently simmer for about 3 hours. The reheat the next day after skimming any fat from the top. It's a clear vegetable soup with the oxtail joints have with fresh bread and butter.
Another favourite is filipina pork barbecue. Marinate cubed pork leg chops (including the fat) in lemonade (yes lemonade) lemon juice, onions, cracked black peppercorns, soy sauce and a little brown sugar. Marinate for at least 8 hours put onto bamboo skewers and barbecue. Best on a charcoal barby, but ok on a gas barby or even under the grill.
MizzCroft I had tacos on Monday night. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/thumb.gif
Anything veggitarian (I am one LOL!), but a persoanl favorite is Mushroom + Veggitable stirfry served sizziling on :D
Soup! I greatly love the Ramon Noodle Soup and any type of Chicken soup with real chicken bits in them.
(Lupins someone told me you say. But the ones I like in salted water are only available in Portugal as far as I know)
Portuguese sausages (chouriços) and now there's even vegan non-meat versions of them. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
Spaghetty makes me happy, something in the texture, I don't know even with just olive oil and garlic is fine, but paprika, cumin and oregano make it taste great. I like vegan junk foods (burgers, sausages, pizza, ice cream). :D
I love crackers with humous and tortillas with beans.
I love to eat spicy chick peas (indian snack)while drinking diet coke.
I like proper recipes too, specially if they involve crispy pastry, but it's rare I'm inspired to cook seriously.

I have this thing for fast food, Italian, chocolate and ice-cream, but I'm not picky: anything in front of me, when I'm hungry, gets to be my favorite for the time. :D
Chocolate. Am eating some at present. Yum!
I think I'm gonna follow your example... :D *goes fetch*
No one likes soup? http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

I love pierogies. They make my world keep turning.
I also really like Mongolian Tofu and vegetable fried rice.

Camera Obscura, I love soup, especially as a quick lunch. My favourites are mushroom, creamy tomato (pref' with basil) or boulion with noodles. Yum!
I've also got a thing for home-made sweet-and-sour pork. The batter is the fun part as it's basically just cornflour and water. It's technically a non-Newtonian liquid - meaning that when you apply pressure (say, when stirring) it goes solid, but it runs/pours like a liquid http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/clown.gif . Custard is the same - in fact on a recent TV programme they proved its strange properties by walking on a swimming pool full! As long as you keep moving you're alright, but stop walking and ... you sink http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif ! Probably explains why I don't like custard http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/whistle.gif
Hmmm, lots of food I love (most of it bad for me!)
Love a nice Chicken Tika Massala Curry (as long as it's nice and mild). I also love most Pasta dishes :D and I think best way to start a cold winters morning with with some warm nice Vegetable Soup http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
I'm also a bit of an Ice-cream addict http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/jumper.gif
