Just curious.
Mum is allergic to watermelons and rockmelons which I think is really odd. (Cantelopes for the Americans) Im allergic to some animal hair: all cats, rabbits, and most dogs. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/wave.gif

Hi Andromeda! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/wave.gif I am allergic to penicillin, sulfa drugs and cephalosporins (I break out in hives). It's tough finding a powerful antibiotic for me!!

I also have hay fever problems, and I am allergic to molds and dust (I almost stop breathing!!)

That's about it!!

Hi shan http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/wave.gif
A cleg-fly is a specie of horseflies looking something like this:
http://home.online.no/~eiri-dah/oppdateringer/bilder/030727/030702_bading_sorlivannet%20klegg.jpg

They approach really silently, so you don't notice them until they've landed on you. Kinda like mosquitos, they suck blood, but their bite is a lot more painful http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/yuck.gif My hand was the size of a boxing glove after being bitten by one of those beasts

Whoa, they look nasty Marianne. I hope that image is not to scale. ;) http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

My friend was bitten by a platypus and his hand swelled up and he had to go to hospital. That was random, especially as playtpus' are so sweet and shy.

Hey Shan babe, my mate is allergic to pencillin, but she takes an alternative drug (cant remember the name)

I don't think I'm allergic to Sig. smoke. I never was before. But a couple of days ago I smelt some and was sneezing pretty bad. Maybe it's the weather too.

One time (back in high school) there was one day, it was near the beginning of the new school year or a new semester where we'd moved into new classes. For some reason I think I got it from French class. It might have been some pesticide they sprayed in there or it was from STRESS  due to the new classes and all. But whatever it was - I broke out in hives ALLLLLLL over. Nothing like this had ever happened to me. I didn't sleep a wink that night at all, I would go out and lay in the grass which had cool wet dew on it and I'd wiggle in it to try to relieve my ichy-ichy body :( . I even rubbed my back up against a tree (yeah, just like a bear in those nature films  ). I didn't know what the heck was going on. I had applied this whitish pink anti-itch stuff and had it all over me. It was very hot (summer time) too. So I was just in my cut off jeans with this pink stuff all over me. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/redface.gif Needless to say I couldn't go to school the next day, I had my father to take me to the doctors office but by the time I got there the Hives had subsided. Dad drove around town trying to find a pharmacy (he knew where one was - I just think he was trying to find one that was closer.) Finally we just went to a pharmacy that we knew where -was. I took an Antihystamine(sp?) and it made me sleeeeepy. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/sleepy.gif I don't ever remember being more miserable in my whole life. Now there was the one time I ate some bad mexican food and I didn't know if what was in me wanted to come out the front or the back - but that's whole 'nother story. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/redface.gif

Woa, that hives story sounds pretty rough. I'm not allergic to anything. Well, I am sort of, I can't wear earrings unless they are gold, or nickel free. If I wear something that has nickel in it my ears will get all infected and gross. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/yuck.gif Other than that I don't think I am allergic to any thing. My best friend is allergic to loads of stuff! He has your normal pollin allergies ( I think) and he is allergic to basically any animal with fur, he is allergic to eggs and dairy products, penuts, and he has asthsma. Poor guy. haha. His asthma isn't that bad though, I've never seen him have to use his enhailer and we play sports a lot in the summer.

(Mysterious Hives) http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/violent.gif Oh my goodness, Capt., your story sounds so familiar!! I went camping several years ago and I only remember traipsing through the brush once, but when I got home I noticed I had poison ivy.

Well, it itched and I scratched it, naturally. Then that tiny spot became a giant spot, which spread to my whole leg, then proceeded from there like a dang metasticizing cancer ALL OVER my body! It was horrendous! I too, was covered in calamine lotion (never worked, tho). I looked like a monster.

To make matters worse, it would not go away!! After two weeks of misery, I went to the doctor who put me on a steroid medication (oral), which caused my already itchy back to break out with zits!!!! It was awful!!

FINALLY, after three and half weeks, my plague-ridden body cleared up. I am petrified of poison ivy now!!

I forgot to mention that. The only times I ever had it was during the summer months (of course) and it would get between my fingers then spread and spread some more. Some times it would get onto my wrists and one year I think it must've gotton on my face near my eyes. But if it was Poison Ivy it didn't look like it did on my hands. Then again - it may have been a bug bite or something.

Seafood and fish give me nasty allergic reactions. Wherever there's stuff like that (cooked, that is, cause I don't mind at all swimming along with them in the sea :D ), I go like http://smiley.onegreatguy.net/bolt.gif ...

I used to be allergic to a certain bush, which I never really knew how to identify... Later, in pre-teens, I developed a real mean allergy towards cats, dogs and horses. Some other furry friends too but those were the only I encountered on a regular basis.
I started working at a daycare for dogs which had me poppin' some ten pills a day and some regular inhailor-activity at the beginning. One day I realized that I had forgotten to take the medicine that morning and yet I hadn't had a reaction - of course, that made me have one...
But I started thinking that maybe it was all psycological and within a year I had gotten rid of the allergy of dogs. I now have one of my own! :D
The cats - I'm working on it! Not quite ready to get one, but at least I can cuddle with them without the following trip to the er...
I haven't seen a horse since I was 15 so I have no idea what my reaction to those would be. Most likely it's still there since I've hadn't had a chance to work with it...

I'm allergic to pollen and one of our school district's gyms. Whenever we play at that school as soon as I walk in my eyes water, I sneeze, and break out. I think it might be all the dust in there though. It's got a sort of stadium seating arrangment.

You may know this and some may not... Usually things your are allergic to - you CRAVE. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif Weird.

I remember reading an article about a test you could take. It had something to do with raising your arm and holding it up in place horizontally, have someone else try to push your hand down, then hold a peice of food (that you're allergic to) in that same hand. Somehow, it won't be as easy to hold your arm up when the resistance is applied by another person pushing your arm down.

Well, it's something like that. Maybe I can Google for allergy tests to find out exactly how that went. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/bash.gif Does anybody else know of this mystical Allergy Test?
