In my opinion TRC! I loved the stealth and the chloroform and... stuff!! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
It was quite simply the best and nicest!
And the worst? TR2, affirmatively.
Now what do you think?
I agree, I think TR2 was the worst because it was just too difficult :( . TR3 had it's moments but some levels were just boring . But TR5 takes the cake as the best with the stealthy overtones. :D

Yes, Garner, suppose yer right.
But TRC was made in rush and it's quite filled with bugs so... I can't choose! TLR or TRC? What a dilemma :( !!!

Tomb Raider II was undeniably, IMO, the best episode to date. Venice captured it for me.
**Me n Phil, we gotta stay outta this..**

No, no, tlr online. TR2 had its moments but cert not Venice, imHo! Only the first level initially was right but Opera House... eek! ;)
And the graphics, well, weren't THAT up-to-date too. Venice looked more like a not-so-nice neighborhood of Paris (except for the gondolas ;) )
Nothing personal at all http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif !
Arrivederci.

The best levels on TR3 were the Nevada levels, and the London Underground was good but it was really long and took bloody ages  which proved to be vastly inconvienient  the level with the mine carts was quite fun. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif :D

Not to say no, but I don't think so.
The River Ganges, that was my favvy level.
That stupid kayak level  on the other hand...
Arrivederci!
I didn't really like the south pacific levels that much except the level with the crashed plane http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif Which level is the River ganges again?

The quaddy level, I think
the croft woman!

i think tomb raider chronicles is no.1!but i was dissopointed at the end because we still don't know for sure if lara's alive!  i need to know!it was a cool game though.i loved the tower block levels and i liked being able to act out lara when she was 16.i liked the idea of the enemies doing normal things like sleeping, chatting and cooking...
my worst one will have to be...i can't really decide, tomb raider 4 because it was so long but then again i think it was a great game...tomb raider 1 because it had nothing but caves...but then i did love the f.m.v clips and battling natala and that big rib cage monster whatever it was...tomb raider 2...i can't think of anything i didn't like,i loved the venice levels.
tomb raider 3 was cool...my fav levels have to be in nevada and the mines in antartica. :D
TOMB RAIDER II
Simply the best. Action , adventure, puzzles, music, story, great ending, and the extra "gold levels".
Cronicles is extremely close . It is wonderful :D :D
Keep Raiding!
jeb
Youre all quite right each game has had its ups and downs but there all good on the whole. :D
I think TR 2 was the worst. It had 2 much fighting and not enough time on puzzles etc. Tomb Raider 4 was the best. It had the right mix of fighting/gameplay/levels and the best graphics and story.
I liked II and Chronicles equally. The graphics may not have been so up to date on II, but it was enjoyable none the less.
I didn't really care for III. I got so bored that I never finished it.
And like I've said on other topics, TR1 was my personal favorite. TR4 is VERY close to my #1, but nothing will ever beat that FMV after Lara touches the Scion from TR1, I loved every level, and the Atlantis level is the only level to have ever given me chills to this very day. I only liked a couple of levels from TR3, the Desert, Crash Site, and Coastal Village. And I must agree with everyone, TR5 was great, the Ireland levels were my favorite from it.
(I should really get my copy of TR2 back so I can play it, It's been at my sister's house for 2 years!!)

For me, it has to be original and best! I remeber playing it and going wow at times, like entering that huge room with the gorillas and tigers or standing on the sphix head.
of course graphics etc have improved over the years and TRC is pretty good but it has to be 1 for me. :D :D :D

I've only got TR2 & Gold, TR3 and TR4 but out of them I would have to say TR3. But it camouflages to much

Oh I agree 100% with you about TR3 camouflaging too much. I've had soooo many problems trying to find med-packs in the jungle areas or the thin harpoon bundles. It gets frustrating, but I love the game anyway (especially the ATV level).
:D
I've only played tr1, last rev and chronicles. I like Last rev on Dreamcast the best the cut scenes and the over graphics where the best so far. I can wait to see Lara in the next generation of tombraider!

I`m not sure  TR1 is the original and beat every game in its day.TR2 was a departure from TR style so some love it others miss the tombs and don`t like the fightingI thought it was cool  TR3 all the variety you could want vehicles locations senery but hard in places and the kayak was a nightmare all you could do was decide which way you went into the traps forward or back!TRL music story great fights desert railroad a personel favourite.Chronicles stealth, danger unarmed combat(the chloroform)Lara as a girl.Brilliant what more could you want. :D
Tomb raider 1 was the best imo. though maybe not the coolest.
The first game I got was TR2,and it was my favourite game for 3 years!TR1 was good but after playing TR2,TR1 was rubbish. :( When TRC came out,TR2 was yesterdays news,my only problem was that I finished TRC in 10 days!
 :(

Most people completed TRC in a few days aswell so you're not the only one. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
I think because The Lost Artefact and The Golden Mask weren't on PSX they should have included them in the PSX version of TLC what do you think? :D
http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif I agree compltetely!Please reply to "I have an idea"!! :(
all the tomb raiders are amazing, but the last revelation, oh dude...the story, graphics...the best...I don't have a worst, they're all grat!!...

well, i just completed The Last Revelation.
i can say that as i played on with TRLR,
overall i really wasn't enjoying it very much and just wanted to finish it.
i think it was all that sandy, dusty desolation when Lara was outside
(slight exception were the Coastal Ruins levels)
and perhaps the repetitious sandstone/limestone claustrophobia when Lara was inside.
...plus some of the swinging rope requirements were more annoying than puzzling,
like when Lara sometimes had to let go before her feet raised high, sometimes not.
sometimes her alignment to the next rope had to be tweaked slightly,
but this was easier, more logical to figure out.
now it's true...ancient Egyptian pyramids are about the best tombs to define all tombs.
...one of the best locations for a tomb raider story.
but i think i just got tired of the theme's design and repetition.
...now the layouts, graphics, and game movements themselves seemed
like a definite improvement over TR2's.
(TR2 is the other full game i've played besides TRLR and Chronicles)
i suppose i'm not a real die-hard TR fan, but i do like the games.
for me, TR's general creepiness has to be overcome by fun and excitment.
as expected, all the TR games i've played have churned my stomach at some point.
there's always some feeling of anxiety in playing, lol, and i don't expect a TR game to be perfect.
but TRLR didn't give me enough fun and excitment.
now i did think the crossbow and grenade launcher were part of the fun...much better than an M-16.
i think the Tomb Raider games' intervals of routine and difficulty are OK....gives U breathing room.
but getting back to comparing TRLA's nature and design,
TR2 allowed for more variety of environments, ie,
China, Venice, Tibet, Offshore Rig, undersea shipwreck, etc.
TR Chronicles was full of variety and TR 1 and TR 3 sound like they are too.
at this point of my TR experience, i can't really say i have a favorite TR game yet,
but TRLA is my least favorite so far.
last comment:
wow..TRLR's last level....
i think there's no way in hell anyone's gonna finish the last level without some walkthru help.
this is quite a route to figure out and run through when under pressure!!
...also health cheats seem like a definite must-have.
now of course i am happy that i have the TRLA game and did experienced it.

i cant choose between them all i think that TR1 had some of the best levels but the grafics sucked. i just love the ancient egyptian levels, the jungle ruin type levels, and greek mythology types. i love the puzzles and magical things about them like in TR3 the first levels there were really kool but i hated london and nevada with a passion. i just dont like the in town things that much and the inside new hi-tech places r ok but not my favs.
If they had the levels from TR1,TR4,the jungle and south pacific from TR3,and the 1st and 3rd Story levels from TR5, and the moves weapons from the lates ones i would be in TR heaven!!!!!!
ALSO i hated not being able to see what u just picked up in TR4(i think it was 4,might be 3 though). it just ****ed me off
I loved the MP5 from 3 that ruled.

NO DOUBT THAT TR1 IS MY FAV. IT NEVER GETS BORING EVEN THOUGH I'VE PLAYED IT A HUNDRED TIMES. I DID NOT LIKE TR2 BUT THREE WAS RATHER GOOD. TLR WAS PRETTY GOOD, AND I LOVED THE MUSIC. I WISH THEY HAD THAT MUSIC ON CD. I GUESS I LIKE THE FIRST ONE SO MUCH BECAUSE I JUST THOUGHT IT WAS AMZING HOW YOU COULD GET INTO THIS GAME AND FEEL LIKE YOU WERE THERE (IF YOU USE YOUR IMAGINATION) I JUST HAD SO MUCH FUN WITH IT AND MY KIDS WOULD SIT AND WATCH, THE FIRST TIME IN THEIR LIVES THAT THEY WOULD SIT STILL!!!!!!! ANYWAY, I DONT THINK THEY WILL EVER BE ABLE TO TOP THAT ONE, EVEN WITH BETTER GRAPHICS AND STUFF IN FUTURE GAMES.
WELL ALL THE TR GAMES ARE ALL CHALLENGING TO ME BUT MY FAVORITE WAS TR2 AND I FELT THIS ONE WAS THE HARDEST AND IT IS THE ONLY TR GAME I DIDN'T CHEAT MEANING GETTING CHEAT CODES FOR WEAPONS,ETC.MY LEAST FAVORITE IS TRLR SOOOO MANY LEVELS.CHRONICLES COMES IN 2ND AND NOW I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO TRNG EVEN THOUGH IT WON'T BE OUT ON PS AND I GOTTA BUY PS2 BUT I'M ABSOLUTELY HOOKED WHAT CAN I SAY..KEEP RAIDING!!!! :D
Tombraider II is my favorit it is the only tittle i played three times," however tr5# was the most realistic i will play tr2# once more.web pagewww.trleveldesighn.com (http://www.trleveldesighn.com)
I gotta say all points are sharp, but TRLR took my cake, it was complete...it had a story and a plot(two very different things), graphics that were better than they could have got away with, decent length with thyme to spend playing it over a period of weeks instead of beating it in two days and wondering if it was worth it, enemies that werent too easy or hard, weapon choices(only one thing I disliked, no laser gun, but it is the past after all), the vehicles werent bad either...so I say that TRLR was the best of all of them...there is no worst on the other hand...
PS: this is another good reason to have a poll section... http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

I'd say that TRLR will never be many peoples favorite due to the majorly 'evil' ending. I can't believe they got away with trying it grrrr. But TRC was, in my opinion, too short and some of the puzzles were a bit too reliant on you pushing 'action' at the right time (and the crawl space on the Ireland level above the mill -WHY!) TR3 was difficult and a bit too combat orientated. TR2 had a T-REX!! (Okay, I know, so did TR3 but still)but dated a bit too quickly. So the original will always stand out as the best as it is where the fond memories lie. You just cant beat the opening sequence of the wolf fight and the main bad thing at the end. Roll on TRNG thats what I say!!
Although I have only completed TR1, I have had a go with all the series. My favourite one (which I am playing now) is TR2. I liked Venice alot. I think the worst is TR3 because I hated the jungle and the bloody save diamonds. I keep getting stuck on TRC and so I have shelved that for now.

I have to say my favourites are TR2, it was also the first TR game I have played. Also Chronicles, but I finished it so fast. With all the secrets and everything. TRLR was also really good because it had everything and it was more challenging (it was long and puzzling) then Chronicles. On the other hand, I did not like TR3 because it stepped so far away from the TR thing. (Tombs, actually having a purpose.) Some levels were fun but others were just boring. I also did not like TR1 because I played Tomb Raider two before it and it was just too easy because TR2 was really hard. It was not a good one to start off with. It was still my favourite. :D

I think, so much like so many others, that TR1 cannot be beaten. I've just downloaded the Glidos patch, and just going through it again now, watching everything with filtered graphics and perspective correction etc. Woohoo!
TLR came a close second, but I think that setting the entire damn thing in Egypt was a big mistake. I hated Cairo- it was just so depressing. Otherwise it could put us off the scent so easily- the puzzles were formed in a completely new style, so I had to re-learn all the tactics on solving puzzles. (ie. if it moves, shoot it. If it doesn't move, push it)
TRIII had a good variety of everything, and more or less sums up the game pretty well. It's good, but I think the south pacific levels were too much like the Jungle ones- they should have had one or the other, but not both. They could have had something, well, drier ( http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif) instead of India- like a Tomb!
TRII just had too much fighting, and it has much less replay than any of the other games.
It was good the first time, but some of the locations were just dull- I didn't like the ship or Tibet.
TRC seemed a little too short, and looked a little too much like it had been put together in a hurry (although it did come with the level editor, which made it more than worth it :D ). Although I did like the locations, and I like it because it gave a larger idea of Lara and her life, rather than one adenture.
And the editor is more than a game in itself- now there's no stopping us :D
