View Full Version : How to play AVI-files in Windows Media Player
I can't remember what exactly happens when I am trying to play files with the extension .avi in Windows Media Player, but I either get a fault message or I get some visualisation rather than the actual video I wanted. Can anybody help me with this, please? I guess I'm gonna have to download something, but where and how? And please ... if you provide a link; make sure it's one that can be trusted, ok?
Bye for now
Do you have installed the latest DivX codecs?
Err ... the what? How do I do that, please?
Try installing DiVX. www.divx.com (http://www.divx.com)
The codec is free. Welcome to our forum. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/wave.gif
Thanks! It feels good to be here amongst other Tomb Raider fans. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/c-2.gif
Say: now that I can play those .avi-files with the downloaded DivX-program ... is there any way that I can play all of my videos with one program either DivX or Windows Media Player or can't it be done? Can I play those .avi-files with WMPlayer or not?
Once you have the codecs installed, you will be able to play DiVX movies in Windows Media Player fine.
Be sure you are running the latest version of Windows Media Player. You can check here:
