View Full Version : Which is most difficult level in TR1?

Am up to Beginning of Level 9-Tomb of Tihocan
So far for me Level 7 Palace Midas was toughest because of the fire pillars. Just could not get thru this- the idea of getting caught on fire and burned to a crisp makes me so nervous, intricate controls- turning Laura around in mid air-anyway , gave up after 2 0r 3 hours, found saved game. will I have to face even worse things in the next 5 levels? What was the hardest thing for you in this game?

I think the hardest level was atlantis.. just because it scared the hell out of me and I kept dying in fear.

TR1 was a brilliant game and is definitely one of the best of the series, i agree that Atlantis was the most difficult level. :cool:

Yes, Atlantis is probably the hardest level.

Natla's Mines is also pretty hard ;)

Oh yes Natla's Mines!

I remember the first time I played that level and I had no medipacks when I had to fight the man with the shotgun. I couldn't do it!!!!

You know Rommie, first time I played Natla's Mines, I finished the level without weapons (I missed them). I did't found the pistols, so I just ran away from bad guys in the whole level.

In next level, I started with pistols :confused:

natlas mines can be done with no weapons on psx, it's great fun!!!!!!! :D

I remember the first time I played TR, it was the second game I had ever played in my whole life (the first one was Star Wars Dark Forces). So, when I got to that dastardly puzzle in Atlantis right before you battle that gigantic mutant thingy where you have to throw a switch and run/jump(for speed) around the room on a skinny walkway to another switch then turn and (perfectly) make your way cutting corners all the back around to an open door, it just about killed me!

I HATED timed puzzles. Atlantis was the hardest. I do have to say that I also had a difficult time with Palace Midas. I couldnt figure out that the hand turned things to gold--duh!!! After I figured that out, I died more than a few times on purpose because I thought it was so cool to watch Lara turn to gold! :D

Atlantis is the hardest in terms of action and having quick reflexes.

Palace Midas and The Cistern are the toughtest in terms of having to think your way through.

I loved the cistern! I thought it came at a good time, when I needed something different.

Me too! I loved the Cistren! It came at just the right time in the game, gave me little relief from raiding all those tombs!

Don't even mention the Sanitarium! :eek: I think that or Maximum Security thingy ( ;) ) in AoD was the scariest TR level ever. The freak things even beat out the Yeti for being the most scary! :eek:

But back to TR1! :D I'd have to say the hardest level was either Sanctuary of the Scion, or the Great Pyramid.
