View Full Version : I'm tired - too much music

Ok, some of you on here will know that I'm a musician...

...Well, I've been commissioned to write the music for a 90 second trailer for a computer/console game (!!). I've spent the last 3 evenings working late at my studio at home composing - the first 2 nights were wasted, because I s****ped that idea and came up with something much better last night. The downside is that I now feel like a zombie, plus I have a 9hr day at work, every weekday + 3hrs commuting per day...

I can't say anything about the game... all I can say is that I'm quite excited about this opportunity, as I've been wanting to break into paid, proper music work for ages. It also looks like the company this is for has a lot of work coming up too, so hopefully it'll be ongoing.

It's similar to the kind of stuff I do with Gavman, so thanks to him I'm experienced enough to pull this off.

I'll post the address when the trailer's finally up on the game's website, but that may be a while because no dates have been given to me yet...

Ouch.. This is why I keep my musical talents to myself..

Good luck with all of this.

Thanks everyone for your support!

Marcus - you've just gotta keep at it really, whatever you're doing, like Gavman and his graphics. I've done the odd bit of 'official' music, TV commercials etc., but this is my first computer game project (ok, it's only a short trailer!). Keep perfecting your skills in your spare time, so you'll be ready when the call comes...

Still building up my studio bit by bit too - Buying an 01V96 mixer and some new Event TR8 monitors soon...mmm...when I get the time to sort it all out!
