I was just wondering what everyone here has planned for halloween. I am just going to take my 3 kids aroud and maybe if I have time throw the usual party. I will either go as Lara Croft ( yet again) or may if I have time do the white witch from Narnia ( Lion , witch , wardrobe) . But I want to do her the way she is described in the book. White the black hair and white skin. I hate the way the have her in the new film! Anyway we usually do a egyptian themed hunt in my house and fog everything up . I have a lot of egyptian things so we usally stick with the same theme. My kids keep changing their mind about what they want to be . But I think my boys 3 and 5 will go as mario and luigi . I am trying to just get my daughter to go as princess peach. But that means sewing and I might not have time. Plus all she wants to be is a cat ( again!) . So what r everyones plans this year? Anyone dressing up ?

I'm dressing up as a Gryffindor character from Harry Potter! :D I'm going trick or treating with friends, FREE CANDY! Haha. You're never too old to go! Your ideas about that Egyptian hunt sounded really cool, JOE: MICHELLE! Sounds like tons of fun. What about everyone else?

I don't usually do anything on Halloween, unless you count ignoring the doorbell anytime after 6pm as "doing something".

(Damn trick or treat-ers! )

Halloween here sucks. I live in the middle of the Bible belt so most people around here see Halloween as "demonic". One of my friends might throw a party, but her dad hates me so I might not get to go. You'd like it here Scottlee! No trick or treaters! LOL If I do dress up I might be a cat or a vampire.

Halloween is my birthday, so it's not really for me to decide what I'll be doing. I'm definitely too old to go trick-or-treating (19 this year). http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif But I'm sure whatever's planned for me will be really fun.

I'm going to a halloween party on the 28th, though, and I have my costume all ready... well, almost. There are a few more cosmetic details I have to attend to, and then it should be awesome. Plus the boots I'm planning on getting, but I don't know if they'll arrive on time :( I've wanted these for years and I finally might be getting them (my boyfriend found them at an online shop for me). They have laces and no zipper http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

FYI, I'm going as a fairy. The wings are black, and the dress is black. I know, not original... but it will look nice http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif Especially with the boots!

These are the boots my boyfriend is ordering for me:

Hey actually, that may not be a bad idea ;) .

Mary CF
16-10-05, 19:15
No! Those are going to be my ***kicker boots. :D

I don't want them specifically for the costume, by the way. I just thought they would look really cool with the costume. If they don't get here in time, I'll have to resort to heels... *sigh*

I may be going as a fairy/pixie (whatever you wanna call it), but that doesn't mean I have to look dainty http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

Nice boots, Mary CF! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/thumb.gif .

I'm not a huge fan of halloween, simply because the people round here NEVER make the effort with trick-or-treating. The best they can do is pull their hoods up and talk rreaaallllyy slow and dumb (which is how they talk ANYWAY, so it makes little difference http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/whistle.gif ). Our front door has fuzzy glass, so I can get a pretty good idea how much work people have done for their costumes. I never answer the door if they haven't made at least SOME effort.

In these cases I go up to our upstairs loo and pour a bucket of cold water into the cistern. The out/overflow is right above the front door...... http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/mischievous.gif You'd be amazed how that makes them spruce up the following year! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/vlol.gif

HAPPY HALLOWEEEENNNNNN!!!!! MUAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA!!!

Thank you Greenkey2 http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

HAHAHA.. that's AWESOME! I'm glad you care about Halloween. People here seem to make a pretty good effort... at least from my experience. Years ago.

I'm guessing the people you've mentioned are too cheap to put out the effort. Grr. Minimalists. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

Ah thats right I forgot its not really as celebrated overseas. We should throw a big online halloween party/ chat and then everyone could celebrate. Its sucks for anyone here living a rural area that doesnt do much. I live a hour from Nyc so I know there are tons of cool things to do. I was even considering going on the Edgar Allen Poe tour in NYC. I started plans for the hallowen party today. Hope to have everything done in time. I will have to take pics for everyone to see. That's what I meant Net.

By not wearing costumes, or going to 'trick-or-treat' neighbors, you thus don't celebrate Halloween.

Halloween originally is the celebration of pre-christian, jewish, islamic religions. Though today it's mostly just about having fun at night.

Correct. The idea of Halloween comes from the Hallow's eve night. It is the night where ghouls and ghosts squander the streets, and the habitants of towns kept them away by offering them food.

We don't really celebrate Halloween in my household, my mum always puts a sign up on the door saying ' No trick or treats' because she's scared of the costumes! hehe.

Upon the night of Hallow's eve, a young boy such as yourself thought he had the guts to to go head to head with the Shrouded ghost of the Cavalryman. They say... he died in a fervor of bloodlust, taking as many victims with him as his life gave out.

The lad took the path on the dunes, where it is said, the man died. He thought he heard hooves thundering away agaist the cool night sand, but he just dismissed as another trick the desert was playing.

And it's the last anyone has heard of him... http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/mischievous.gif
