First, you'll have to find a place to keep it, like geocities.com (http://geocities.com) (although I don't really recommend them). You'll also have to learn HTML, which you can do at webmonkey.com (http://webmonkey.com). It's pretty hard to teach someone how to do everything, so if you have any specific questions, don't hesitate to ask me.

Or you can use a software like Microsoft FrontPage or Dreamweaver to create a simple site...

I am going to get some books out of the library to help me understand and learn all about creating and updating a web-site. So i will keep you posted on my progress.

If you want a free webiste I recommend http://www.freewebsitehosting.com

They have a site builder called Zyweb Site Builder and here is an example of a site I made http://ueo.freewebsitehosting.com

If you want to pay for your site I recommend: http://wha.websensei.com

They are very reasonable and give you more for your money that a mainstream provider...but you would need to learn to build the site...

If there is anything else you need to know feel free to ask me...

Hi Everyone,

Just to let you know i am going to create my web-site in word. I have to learn the basics first, such as Hyperlink, colour schemes, font size that sort of thing. Any ideas.

If you're going to do the basic things, then do them. We can't really give you any ideas with that. Just choose the font you want to use, it's size, and colour. Creating a website for yourself is about doing something you like. Pick a colour scheme that you love and go from there.

But one thing I ask is why are you doing it in Word? If you're going to go straight into writing out all of the code instead of using a program to do it for you, like Elen said, then why not just use Notepad? Notepad is what I use, just because it's a simple text editor. I couldn't be bothered to use FrontPage or Dreamweaver, but if you're going to use any of those two, I'd go with Dreamweaver. Those types of programs have a tendency to fatten up your code by adding things that you don't really need. I think it's easier just to write the code on yoru own so you know exactly what is going in, instead of having a program do it for you.

But hey, do what you want.

I am so new at this so that's why i am doing it in word, i understand it more. I would like to hear your ideas on what colour shall i do the web-page (i can't think of a colour) once i learnt the basics.

I was absolutely clueless too. All my friends told me to build in notepad. I never knew what they were talking about. So i went to a book store (like barns & noble, you can get it at a library sometimes) and bought "HTML 4 for Dummies." I'm not trying to say anybody is stupid it's just the name of the book. Anyways, it helped me get a website out. It will teach you just about everything you need to know. And like everyone else said if you have any problems let us know.

Oh I almost forgot, if you want to know which colors to choose there's a thing called an RGB chart. Which is a list of colors and their appropriate numbers. Go Here (http://www.hypersolutions.org/pages/rgbhex.html) and right click on the photo that comes up and click "save picture as" that way you can use it all the time.

With the HTML 4 for Dummies and the color chart, its all you'll ever need.

I built a site for a friend, here is what resulted: http://www.geocities.com/naturebycynthia/
(by the way they chose those colors)

Hi Collin.

Here's a hint. Look in Temporary Internet Files folder on your computer. You might be able to find some menus in there plus some really cool scifi buttons. hehe :D
