View Full Version : Do any of you like Exercising?

I do! I think it's great to be healthy and feel healthy. Imagine what the world would be like if people weren't active.
We would never have any of the things we have today.
Even though I'm only 14, I already have some abs! :D
Exercising will make you feel good and look good!
If you exercise you'll be able to combat a lot of diseases...Gosh I'm sounding like a dork now. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif
Oh Well...I'm just expressing my opnions...
I know we are all lazy sometimes...like playing videogames http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/vlol.gif or staying at the computer all the time. Well, if we spend about 20 minutes in 3 days a week, we can be healthy! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/wave.gif
Who here exercises?

Do I like excercising? Hmmm, well I ride my bike regularly, which I like, but I don't do it for excercise, I do it for pleasure. So, er, yes and no. Or yes by proxy. :D

I have M.E (or chronic fatigue syndrome) so exercising for me has to be veeerryyy sssllloooowww and carefully managed. Before I became ill, I loved cycling, swimming, rollerblading, basketball you name it http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif . The swimming I still enjoy (if only very occasionally) and I recently bought a chair cycle to keep my activity levels up. It's really great because you can do moderate exercise of all your leg muscles without having to dodge traffic, wear a helmet of keep your balance! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/thumb.gif

It's probably one reason I like Tomb Raider - it lets me pretend that I'm fit and healthy (my fingers and reflexes get a workout, anyway  )

It's great to hear from someone who appreciates good health http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif .

Talking about Health, I wonder what kind of workouts are practiced by Lara...

OMG! You are the first one to ever say that! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/vlol.gif
In my chorus class, in school, I was doing a handstand so my shirts rolled up a little...and all the girls were like "OMG! I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT"
Some of the guys (trying to make me feel bad) said it looks weird because I'm really short for my age to have abs... :(

Don't worry, you're looking good. Just be careful not to work out too hard unless you want to kiss your joints good-bye by the time you're 40.

As for myself:
exercises - yes.
enjoy - no.

OT: Nice shirt, Mr. Magnum! :D

I exercise a lot! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif It's fun!
But currently I have a injury in my knee because I have been training too hard. So I have to take it easy for a while...
I did lots of walking, hiking, some jogging... Gymnastics... And I used to do martial arts. Might start that again later this year. Hmm... Track and field is fun!

And I have practiced yoga several years. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

Exercising? Hmm? Does working out with machines in a gym count? I'm recently doing that and I have a friend who is personaly tutoring me on how to use them correctly, ex: How not to put too much strain on your body and such.

I have more lower body leg strength than upper but I'm still pretty weak. I can do 48 sit-ups, and 24 push-ups before I collapse exhausted. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/redface.gif
I can do upper body strength that includes any type of weight lifting between 20-40 lbs. And I for the machines that uses weight lifting for legs, I can do between 70-80 lbs.

I'd prefer to run on a tredmel??? (sp?) indoors than run outside in the hot sun. But I still need some work cause I weigh 153lbs! But I look average, there would be no ****in way that I would let myself get seriously FAT!

I train almost everyday and only with my bodyweight (lifting weights is for those who want to build muscles, I don't).
I do PNF stretching three times a week (I'm missing few inches from the splits).
I sometimes do plyometrics (I'm planning to do some really hard training for my legs next year).
I don't do usual strength training like push-ups, pull-ups, sit-ups etc. except muscle-ups (I can do 5 in a row).

Is that Arnold's Stchastneger (whatever it's spelled) body? I honestly have no idea who it is, the pic came without a head in the first place.

So, 75 push-ups? That's http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/clown.gif ! The most I could ever do in a row was 60.

Boyraider, I really hope you aren't ingesting steroids :( . When I was 16, I did do regular work out segments, but I didn't get these sort of results. Now, it's different ;) LOL!

Just to SMSL: No it's still not a shirtless me LOL! That is still inappropriate but it's close :D LOL!

Ewww. Excercise. I have been trying lately to do pushups and stuff but for me excercise has to be fun. I love sports. I am the Queen of Dodgeball! (i consider it a sport) But I also like to play softball and basketball is alright.

People, I think you have gotten the preception of excercing all wrong. There is a big difference between casual excercsing and a full blown work out.

A simple walk, a run to the Store, house chores, etc. I regard this as excercing since you are doing an activity and you are burning calories in the process. However, you aren't targeting an exact area of your body while you are doing this.

A work out is strenous and targets one part of the body in particular. For example: Crunches target the abdominal, Pushups trget the arms and the chest, Weights target upper and lower body strength etc.

I was really impressed with myself, but it probably happened because I drank about 3 cans of coke..so I was kinda hyper! :D lol 75    even if i drink all the coke in the coke company, i still never can do that. 25 is my max. That is awesome Boyraider

Just keep doing them everyday and you'll eventually get there. Just don't do too much. 20 push-ups a day is a VERY good workout. Each week try to increase the number of pushups by 3, but make sure it's something that you are comfortable with. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/wave.gif

But what works for me may not work for another. Just do what you feel comfortable with.

Exercise comes and goes in phases for me. Sometimes I get enthusiastic about it, and do yoga and walking. Other times it just seems like climbing Mount Everest.

I don't jog because some say it's bad for the joints, but there have been phases when I've loved going for a walk in the sparsely populated rural areas where I live. I live in a small town near Perth and there's a another small town about 4 miles away, and I've often enjoyed just walking there and seeing things from a different perpspective. Seeing things from a viewpoint of a walker is very different from what you see from your car! And occasioanlly you'll be rewarded with some really nice sights, from my experience notably there's a place where you can see the river Tay about half a mile away with farmed fields scattered around, a railway line running paralell to the river and electricity plyons verging to the river. The sense of visual depth from that view is incredible and certainly makes a change from my home bound phases where the average depth of vision is about 8 feet!

Exercise also releases endorphins- the "pleasure chemicals", so after a walk I usually feel better.

what is the correct way to do push-up ? i know some ppl do push-up and it looks really ... different

and for building mucsle, i belive it has something to do with the gene and ethnicity. Like if a person has a good gene of creating muscle, he/she will be able to build muscle easily. And like Asian people use to have less muscle than White people.
