I hope everyone can see that preview, I've never used this host before. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/privateeye.gif

There is a 1600*1200 version, but I just don't feel like waiting for it to upload at the moment. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/whistle.gif But I will upload, eventually. ;)

And just in case anyone is wondering, there is 4340866 polygons in that scene. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/privateeye.gif

A scene that looks like that LC could be made in less than 30000 poly's through the use of backface culling, hand built geometry and clever use of Alpha transparancies and shaders.
The trees are most definately alpha's its obvisous by the angle of the leaves. The water with cleaver use of material shaders, bump mapping, light illumination and reflectivity maps could in essence be made of just one polygon with a flat mirror reflection applied http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/clown.gif
The sky looks photographic, i doubt thats CG. In truth i could probably design that in two days with less than 20000 polygons, although it really depends on what the scene was made for. If it was made purely to be a single render image then it should be way less than 30000, if it was made to be an animated environment then you would be looking at around the 40000 to 50000 marker.
But still, the lightings nice http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

Trees are 3d, and the sky is indeed fully CG. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/privateeye.gif
