Why don't you read the novels? (and there's a lot of them) Even if you're not usually big on reading novels, and I'm not, I found them quite engrossing. And then you don't have to worry about Bond being blonde.

Only time will tell how good Daniel Craig will be as James Bond.

We can't make a proper judgement before he has done any films.

I'd say "well, he's a good actor...", but really, for the 007 movies, talent is not what it takes....

We should give him a chance. Who cares what his hair colour is? George Lazanby and Tim Daulton were both brunets but sucked as bond. Lets wait until the previews and the film come out.

The problem with Brosnan was that he was just a bit too slick I thought. Handsome, suave, debonair, yes, but to the point where he lacked any real edge. In the books Bond is a fairly gritty character and even shows a bit of nastiness sometimes. I thought the best post Connery Bond was Timothy Dalton. (although his hair was a tad too long for my image of Bond I thought) But I still thought Brosnan was better than the later Roger Moore films. In fact I'm surprised that interest in the Bond movies continued after the awful early/ mid 80s period. So I would't mind seeing a new type of Bond arrive.

Still whatever happens it *has* to be better than 1985's awful View To A Kill, or the even worse 1983 Never Say Never Again.

I have the solution!!!!...........

stop making Bond films!!! I got tired of them a long time ago. All they are are sexist movies with overthetop action. James Bond has been saved by some random person so many times, it's just annoying now!!

Personally, I thought Brosnan encapsulated everything Bond represented. Style, sophistication, a cavalier attitude. I mean, he was almost born for the role. That's not to impugn Connery, who was the original Bond and right up there with Brosnan.

From the pic we've seen of Craig so far, and that long gun, I think I can see where they're going with this one. If I'm right, then the movie will have a certain old-time 'Al Capone' style about it, which perhaps would be a welcome detour from the typical Bond format.

Scottlee. Did you by any chance get the Bond DVD box set?

We can't make a proper judgement before he has done any films. I agree. I think it was a bold and interesting move if anything.

I've never been a big fan of James Bond movies personally, though I did watch most of the recent ones (my friends went to cinema to watch and I went with them purely on inertion). So I don't care much about who plays him, it's all about the shooting and unrealistic action scenes (and brainless villains) anyway.

I liked him in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider but in my eyes he's not a Bond. Pierce definately embodied Bond, but if I had to name a replacement I'd have a good friend of mine, he'd make a fantastic Bond.... and he's a bit of a ladies man http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/whistle.gif
