Rope swinging

Pardon my ignorance, but I can't find anything in the naual about how to swing on the rope and can't figure it out. This has me (and my wife!) stuck in the training level (we are quite embarassed). We can jump to the rope and grab on, but can;t get the timing right for just jumping off on the initial swing. Is this even possible, or do we have to grab hold, then swing back and forth?

Press the "\" to swing, keeping action pressed to prevent Lara from slipping off. Then hit jump when the rope swing reaches it's peak.

the button to swing on the rope is also the same button to sprint: "/" (if you can't find it it's next to the "shift" button!)

All the above, plus if Lara is about as low as she can go on the rope, she seems to fly better through the air when you hit 'Jump' when she's at the highest peak of her swing.
