Yeah they hurt pretty bad in the beginning...or so I've heard. I have a slight protrusion but I dont want to get braces done.

I hope you get used to it soon.

How long do you have to have them on? Two years?

About 18 months! :(

Don't worry, you'll get used to it. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/wave.gif

Yeah, I used to have them, you get used to them after a while, and the tend to only hurt for a few days after they are tightened - they're not that big a deal, you'll get used to them! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/wave.gif

Congratulations tombraider123! Be very happy! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/thumb.gif Have you ever seen grownups (not me) and thinking to your self if only that person had braces when she was a child? ;)
I think you can believe those here saying you'll get used to it. Although i can't tell fromm own experience, i just believe them. :D

You'll get used to them. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/thumb.gif Are they fixed (traintrack)? I will have three braces. I've had my first one (a retainer) for half a year, I'm now on my second (a twin-block) for another half a year (you cannot close your mouth with these and they are more uncomfortable than retainers, although not as tight), and then I will have a year and a half of fixed brace. I've been having treatment for years...x-rays and all that...I've had 11 teeth out, all at once, 2 adults, and let me tell you that is TERRIBLE, especially when you're only 11 yourself, and it was done in the hospital under general anesthetic. Then I had two more out at the dentist and I've still got to have four more out! :D

So, erm...yeah. It ain't all pizzas and green but it turns out a lot easier than you think. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
