Hi All,
I didn't realise there was such a BIG Tomb Raider following after I've been looking for some help on how to get it working in XP!
I've just found this great site and it's forum and was hoping for a 'bit' of advice.
I would love to play TR1 again but i don't really know how to got about it.
My set-up that matters i guess is Win XP Pro , a Radeon 9800 Pro and a SB Audigy Player.
Can I get this fab game working in this hardware without needing to be a Rocket Scientist LOL.
I have seen a few patches and fixes as well as Glidos and VDMSound. Also there is a Radeon glide wrapper which is supposed to emulate a 3dfx card ,sigh why did I get rid of my Righteous 3d card all those years ago???
I hope I'm not asking too much but I'm desperate to play TR1 now i hear it can be done http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
I promise to buy you all a beer if you help me LOL ;)

Hi Slaine, our resident expert is Bokkie, who will be along shortly.

I got TR1 going om XP home version using VDM sound. I loaded the game and exited without setting up any sound cards. Then I installed VDM. Right click on the Tomb.exe icon in the Tombraider folder and click Run with VDM. The graphics are better with Glidos, but I'm not entirely sure how to set it up properly.

If that doesn't work, wait for Bokkie...

Mmm, well Glidos is not a patch nor a fix; it's a DOS + Glide emulator. It's the only viable mean to play at Tomb Raider the way it was ultimately intended. It makes the 3D engine nearly as good as TR2's one.

Apart from configuring VDMS for the sound part, the installation is quite straightforward and the result is 100% worth the minor hassle. Don't buy us a beer - use your bucks to register Glidos ;)
