bloody hell those wolves on the 1st few levels are well scary! there i was happily raiding and then all of a sudden these wolves jump out of no where and nearly give me a heart attack! those sound effects dont help either. :( good thing they die with only a few shots! so is it just me or is there anyone else who is scared of these beasts?!
Hehe you just wait until you get to atlantis ;)

The 1st time I played TR1 my daughter was standing behind me when I came across the wolves and we both nearly had a heart attack. My daughter has never even tried to play TR since then. Now I have all the TR games and am just waiting for AOD. :D
Ha Ha you bunch of girls http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/mischievous.gif .You think thats scary , wait till the T-Rex in The Lost Valley level http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/yikes.gif . My Wife found me hiding under the bed !!! LOL

oh the T-Rex yeah, kicked his ass! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/music2.gif or more precisely, shot. and it didnt even make me jump because music was played before u see it, so i was expecting it! ;)
Rommie is right... Wait until you meet the mummies in Egypt and the mutants in Atlantis, you will know the fear ;)
THE mummies are amid the most scariest mutants in the game. Sometimes when you shoot, you always feel kinda spooky. but to get rid of them, of cause you know what to do, Run like you've never ran before, be pusillaminous.
Yap, i think that cat mummies are the scariest. They are very fast.
Centaurs are also scary, but if you use the gun and jumping from side to side, they can be killed easily http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
It's the Yeti's in TR2 that get me - brown trousers time...
actually, I get pleasure from killing those wolves - I like the comedy yelp as you fill them with lead..

Mummies and mutants http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/yuck.gif City of Khamoon really freaked me out the first time I played.

My Wife found me hiding under the bed !!! LOLHiding under the bed - I thought us 'Mackems' were made of sterner stuff!
Sheeessh
The bear did it for me in TR1. I didn't figure out you had to jump over that gap in Caves.....that was fun getting mauled to death for the first time. ;)
The T-Rex had me freaked out to play the Lost Valley for months! lol I always tried to avoid it. Why is it though, the T-Rexes in TR2 didn't seem as scary? http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif
It was the Yetis who scared me the most. I still remember dropping into a pitch black room and then hearing a bunch of Yeti howling around me... it took me a few minutes before I got the nerve to actually explore the room, and then I noticed they were behind cages :D
It's allright for you Obiwan ,you've got the force to protect you! Yes us Mackems are scared of nowt.If I'd been a Mag i would have smashed me comp up ;)
Anyway I've changed my mind about the T-Rex.I'm on the 'Obelisk of Khamoon' level and there's loads of those Mummies everywhere.Much more scary than a T-Rex http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
those wolves scare me everytime they jump out, ITS REDICULIOUS! i mean games nowadays aren't supposed to scare you so much, back in 1996 when they made this game i think they went out illegal with these scary things AHHH!

Also, with Lara accompanying you in the game there is no need to be afraid.
If it didN't work out the first time, just fight better the next time. It's up to you.
If you want to she is smarter and faster than they are.
Just get out the guns and defend yourself if necessary.

First part of TR (Peru) is the easiest of all TR games (enemies die out quickly, puzzles aren't hard...)!

One time I went into the narrow alley (ground- level, left side with the waterfall halfway in).
First the T-Rex tried to put her head in to get at Lara - couldn't.
Then she changed tactics and killed Lara with her feet.
Had not expected a programming like that.

Wolves aren't scary compared to other abominations in the TR series. There are Atlantis monsters, mummies, and even more in the later games. Anyone remember the spider cave in the Temple of Xian? ;) I'm arachnophobic so that scared me half to death! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/yikes.gif I've only gone through once, and I never wanna go back.
Also, those mummies in TR1 aren't dead panthers. If you look closely, you'll understand that they're actually mummified Atlantean monsters. They stand on two legs sometimes, leap around like the Atlanteans do, and if you look very closely, they have that tube attaching their arm to their side like the Atlanteans have. It's one of my pet peeves for someone to say 'panther mummy' since they clearly were never panthers.
Oh well. Have a nice day everybody!!!!! This is my first post!!!! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/jumper.gif
Welcome, LadyDragonheart!
You are right, looking at things more closely makes the game more interesting as well as the rest of "life, the universe and everything... ;)
Have a wonderful time on the forum!

The wolves scared me in the second level!!! But it was nothing compared to the T-rex in the third level  ! My game (for some strange reason) has music, but no sound effects i.e. footstomps, firing the guns. I remember (it's been a llllooonnggg while since I've finished the game) entering the huge area thinking to myself: Okay something is gonna get me, but I don't know what. Then all of a sudden T-rex startes charging straight towards me http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/bash.gif ! So I start backflipping and firing like there was no tomorrow!! Luckily, I manage to get out of there okay on my first try :D !!!
It's the music that does me.
That really eeery type of music. I had to turn the game of because of it. Never did complete it.

I don't have sound effects either. But i will have them soon. I wanted to hear the dinosaur roar. SInce those levels are easy I will play them ova after I beat the game.
I wanna hear the raptors roar to.
For a game made in 96, the graphics with Glidos are most excellent.
I like the raiding of tombs..It's cool.

I have no sound effects or sound at all during the FMV scenes!!!! :(
If you can hear the sound while playing, you should also hear the sound in FMVs.
But, custscene audios are saved as CD audio tracks ;)

I play TR2 first and the T-rex's in that REALLY had me freaked and thrilled at the same time, especially when the ground starts shaking, thump, thump, thump... (lifted out of Jurassic Park of course) and then this head, roaring, appears out of the darkness! Heck I ran like hell!
Some people I knew had TR1 and they wanted to see my reaction by making me play the bit where the T-rex appears in that game but they were disappointed by my reaction because the T-rex in TR1 seemed awfully tame after that!

You people are too funny. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/jumper.gif LOL. I thought the same way as Gothic in an earlier post. I think there was a lot more action in TR and TR2. Oh, and Atlantis was pretty weird. But the mummies take the cake. All that moaning! plus their already dead. I'm getting ready to start TR1 again now that I have the Glidos download. You all said it was pretty great.

For some strange reason, the T-rex in TR1 scares me more than the one in TR2. Even though he's slower, its that darn music and the fact that he's twice the size of the TR2 ones. But I really hate the Warriors and Flying Warriors from TR2's "Floating Island". They freak me out!
