Game crashes on Level 2

I've recently bought the Sold Out version of tomb Raider 2 as this was the only one I hadn't completed and got through level 1 quite quickly.

The problem that I've got is as soon as the stats for completion of level 1 comes up and I press enter I get the error message

'FATAL: Level 2 (D:\data\boat.tr2) requires a new TOMB2.EXE(version 1344047) to run'

The game then abends. Is there a patch for this or should I take the game back to where I bought it and get a refund?

Any assistance would be great.

I`ve had the same problem,I think it has something to do with a memory prob with the game.It may be a bug and so there could be a patch for it.It doesn`t cause me any problem when it does happen as i usually reload and the game proceeds as normal.If this is stopping you from playing then I`d checkout the patches. :D

I've tried the reloading thingy to no avail.
I've also tried the patch linked on the Using W2K stream and that didn't work either.

Does a different version require a different patch as the version I had was different to the version in the other stream?

The same thing happens to me when I finish Tomb Raider II on my PC but I have Windows XP and it says FATAL: Level 2 (D:\data\boat.tr2) requires a new Tomb2.exe(Ver. 1525735) to run. Please help me.
