View Full Version : Windows XP
Does anyone know how I can make any of my Tomb Raider games work on Windows XP home edition. I've recently bought a new pc and can't get my games to work.
The Tomb raider site states no patch is needed for Tomb raider 2 but I get a fatal error everytime I get to level 2 stating that I need a new version of the executable file.
Can anyone help?
Thanks.

hello and welcome aboard. information and patched for Windows 2000 and Windows XP can be found here:
www.tombraiderchronicles.com/windowsxp.html (http://www.tombraiderchronicles.com/windowsxp.html)
Thanks TLR online,
I've looked a the link and it tells me that no patch is required for Tomb Raider 2, which si the one I'm trying to play.
Is there anything I can do to get it past level 2?
Thanks

hello. we found using the updated tomb2.exe file from Eidos Interactive solved the loading errors that occur when playing Tomb Raider II. This can be downloaded here:
http://www.tombraiderchronicles.com/tr2/fixes.html
(revised EXE) - let me know how you get on.
Cheers TLR Online,
The fix alone didn't work but by running the commpatibility option under Windows 98. The 2 combined worked.
Thanks once again.

np. thanks for the update. good luck and enjoy
No worries,
It was annoying because it's the only TR that I hadn't played and wanted to be able to say that I had completed all TR games.
Now I've got the chance.
I have the exact problem with my Tomb Raider II . I hope that i can get a quick answer.

lovan,
What I did was download the Windows 98 patch
http://www.tombraiderchronicles.com/tr2/fixes.html
and then once you've downloaded the new EXE file, right mouse click on it.
You can then run the compatibility option and select the run as Windows 98 option.
I am now playing the game without any problems.
Hope this helps,
Shadow
