WHERE'S THE STEEL KEY???

I'm in venice and I'cant find the key to open the door in the roof garden. I looked in the walkthroug and they say that you have to kill a thug with a gun and that he carries it, but the thug doesn't come!!!
plz help :( :( :( :(

http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif Hi karyane! Where exactly are you? You have to jump onto the stone bridge from the red awning. That's where you'll meet a doberman, a thug with a bat, and the guy with a gun who has the steel key.

When you start Venice the first kill is a Doberman; then you have to kill a sniper on a balcony--he's got the key. After you kill another dog and thug with the bat, you'll be activating a switch in the boathouse and swimming back to the shack with the flares on the table and climbing the ladder to the top. Shoot out the windows, kill another dog, cross the hallway and jump across the awnings to the balcony where the sniper was. Pick up the key and retrace your steps. I won't go any farther so as not to spoil the rest for you. Have fun. Hope this helps.

Is he there when you start the level? If not I don't know how to help you, he should be triggered when you step out into that open courtyard after killing the first dog. He's the first person you'll be encountering in the level.

If he is there at the beginning and you killed him, his body should still be there. Jump the awnings and jump onto the balcony where he was sniping from. His body should be there--and the key should be nearby (though his body may be on top of it so you might need to try picking up from different spots).

Ok, I read through a walkthrough to refresh my memory on the Venice levels (it's been awhile). The key that I'm describing is actually the first of three in the level--so sorry if I've been helping you with the wrong one. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/redface.gif

Let's shoot for key #2. Ok, I'll assume you got the boat and went through the locks. Once you're outside, steer your boat to the left and ram the three gondolas to make room later. Climb out of the boat and make your way up to the awning across the cannal. Once on the awning, you'll see a stone bridge. Jump to that and immediately backflip. You can kill a dog and thug with bat from the safety of the awning. Once they're dead, hop back over to the bridge and head to the opening on the right where a thug with a gun awaits (if you're really lucky, you may be able to target and kill him from the awning which will save you from taking some damage). Once that thug drops, search the body for the second key. If you can't see the key, the thug's corpse may be on it which means you'll have to try picking up the key by standing in a couple of different spots and pressing action until Lara finds it.

Hopefully, that's the key you're searching for--if not we can try key #3. ;)
