I've just bought the TR Trilogy pack and installed TR2. But there's a problem. There's no music! And no audio files are on the CD.

What should I do? :(

Please help.

Thanks in advance. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

Hi,

this is a common problem, if your situation is like that:

I believe you are able to hear the sounds Lara makes while she's stepping around, open doors, shoots etc. but hear no music nor ambient sound.
You will also hear no sound in cut scenes which or not FMV-video-scenes like the startup movie.

And you're right: the music and ambient sounds have not their origin in normal audio file formats.

Try the following: Plug headphones into the audio jack at the front of your CD-Drive and turn the volume high (on the CD-drive). Alternativly you may connect some external active speakers to that jack. If you can hear the music now (which is likely) you have two choices:

Open your PC and connect the audio output of your CD-Drive to the appropiate counterpart on your soundcard - this is often not done while installing these components. These old games unfortunatly rely on this proper installment.
Read the documenation of your sound card and CD-drive carefully to find the right cable and plugs.

Or - if you have - plug a second set of external speakers to the CD-drive as described before. You will then have four speakers - 2 for the output of your soundcard where you can hear everything you're already hearing now and 2 for the music and ambient sound.

If my suggestion is right, you should really try one of these solutions. Playing TR without ambient sound and without hearing what people are talking in cut scenes really mess up the fun with game.

Hope this was helpful.

Greetings,

Folko

Thanks,

but i solved it by updating a driver. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/redface.gif

But the audios are delayed with a second (in cutscenes, Lara first wobbles her head and then speaks, if you know what I mean). What now?

Could be latency problem............ :(
