View Full Version : Sold Out Software
My copy of Tomb Raider is by Sold Out Software so therefore a budget title. But get this: It doesn't have any tracks on it. I've tried it in a normal CD player and got nothing. No music, No speech.
Has anyone else come across this problem?

Howdy Lee. What does your PC (computer) identify the CD as?

Is it the same for the other PC versions of Tombraider?
I have TTLR and TRC and they are OK..Nice graphics too!
What About TR2 & TR3 do they have music and sound? - I was thinking about getting em both. I can't stand to play games on the PS2 anymore.
My mate has the original first edition PC version of TR1, with unfinished business. I may have to assualt him and steal it later as he wont part with it ..lol
And has anyone noticed that the old PSX Tombraider games look really Sh*t on the PS2?. Even with the PS2's PS1 graphics driver set to 'Smooth'.
I just got nostaligic talking bout the good times in another thread - so I just tried the old games on my PS2 (I dont have a PS1 anymore) . My god, I must say they look bloody Orrible http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/yikes.gif
I can remember the graphics being better than that when I first got it in 96!
Or is it just coz Im a bit of a purist and ive been watching that 'Half Life 2' gameplay video too much and have had my mind warped?

The only one I did not finish on PSX was Chronicles, but I bought the PC version, restarted and finished it.
And yeah.....I really liked Tombraider 2 a lot.
The Venice levels were cool - Bartollis hideout, The Opera House and the Oilrig level were my fave bits.
I would really like to play them all again, but on the PC - but they are not the same without music.
Id love to see the first game redone with todays high res graphics. Mind you, I think that it would be a major feat to recreate TR 1's atmosphere and eeriness!
There was talk of Core doing something like that a couple of years ago, just before they released TLR I think. But it was never mentioned again.
Shame

When you say 2 & 3 have music and the rest of it, do you mean the 'Sold out' Versions?
Ta
Yes the sold out versions have audio tracks ;) It's only TR1 where they appear to be missing.
Is it possible to 'add' these audio files somehow?
I've only tried the first couple of TR games in a CD player, all the PSX version, and they played fine.
As for running the PSX TR games on the PS2 - TR3 is a lot slower than it used to be - especially the antarctic levels.
I have no idea why the audio tracks don't work im afraid.
All I get when I put it in a cd player is a track list (and with winamp George Micheal LOL)
So I guess you're just gonna have to have silent cutscenes http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif
TR1 and TR2 are the only ones of the series to use audio CD for the background music and effects. It's a pity the Sold Out version of TR1 is missing the audio tracks - what were they thinking? From and including TR3, every sound and cue is sample based. There is no audio CD track on TR3. The four tracks on the disc are actually data tracks.
Since there are talks of TR2... I've started it again after I finished it five years ago... but on my PC this time. I'm in the pool of the Maria Doria right now, what a ride so far! Impressive how I had nearly forgotten so many places. The TR games have never looked that beautiful on my good old PSX.
i love tr 3 soundtrack its nice http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
