View Full Version : Modem problem
Hi Bokkie, or anyone else who can help. I've a Conexant HSF V92 56K PCI modem, which works very well with XP and is running and installed fine. However, I've a partition on my hard drive with Windows 98 SE, and no matter what I do, I can't get the modem to work. I've downloaded four drivers so far, but still nothing.
Is there a way to get it working on my partition with 98 SE?

GeorgeM. If memory serves correctly, this is a software modem, which means the CD will install a virtual com-port on your PC before installing the modem. Are you installing the software from the CD supplied with the modem?

...also, why on earth did you install Win98SE? ;) Are you bored or something?
Hi tlr, I run the level editor on 98 SE, that's all, so I don't have the spinning room problem. But I'd like to get on line from the partition. The software that came with the pooter only has the XP driver.

OK. Hang tight, I'll have a look for the installation CD online.

Ground control to Major George. Click HERE (http://www.helpdrivers.com/ingles/listado/company.asp?empresa=Conexant&dispositivo=Modem) and be sure to download the correct version.
Whatever they're paying you for running this site, you're worth more.
