computer wont start

if i go to shut down and restart my computer wont boot up. it just stays with a blank screen. if i shut down and then power it back on it works fine. any body ever have this problem or mabey know what is wrong. thanks kenny.

You need to check the power surge in your ATX tower ;)

How many devices you have in your computer? Is the power surge 200W or 300W? I'm asking this because maybe the power surge can not supply the power to all devices at bootup :rolleyes:

i have a 400w power supply. forgot to tell system win98se. penulem 4 at 1.7 g. cd rw drive cd rom drive adn floppy. i finaly made it work but i had to turn the video acelartion down 2 notches. i hope this helps some. sorry about the spelling and thanks for responding, hell i cany type eighter

If your running Win 9x(98 in particular), I think Microsoft addressed this problem in thier advisory bulliten. Its a problem associated with shutting down your PC. They posted a fix for the problem.

it was working fine untill about 3 weeks after installing a new video card. i have all the updates for win 98se
