View Full Version : Lara at the Movies Errors and Crashing

I decided to give a go at TRLE Gold '04 - at least to install it. I have the downloaded version (not the CD one), and had encountered no problems at all during the downloading of the files.

As you probably now, the version you download is divided in 12 zip files. Upon opening/extracting some of them (specifically the following: Audio1.zip, Audio2.zip, Cinema3.zip, Movietheatre.zip. TitleAudio.zip), I got an error message that looked like this:

The pic you see above was the error message I got while unzipping the Audio1.zip. The error messages that popped up during the unzipping of the other aforementioned files were exactly the same, only those CRC numbers were different every time.

After clicking OK on that box, another box popped up, asking me if I wanted to continue with the extraction of the rest of the files, I clicked Yes and the process continued.

After completing the unzipping of all the files - and getting the respective error messages for those above - I did all that had to be done so as to run the game (converted the sound files and placed them in the audio folder, put the levels and cutscenes etc in the data folder, the Script etc in the main TRLE folder, etc. etc). Then I fixed the Setup and run the game.

It loaded fine, the flyby at the start (awesome, btw!) played perfectly - only the music sounded a bit too low - and then the game started. At some point, I arrived at a room with a green curtain in a remoted corner. Approaching this curtain, a load screen appeared - which I understand meant that another level would begin.

But the purple load bar only had started to load, when everything froze, and I got the dreaded "Illegal Operation" error message. Which means, the game cannot go on.

I suppose it has to do with the error messages I got upon unzipping the files? Any ideas and/or solutions about all this? http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/bash.gif

Hi Nicky http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/wave.gif --regretting you didn't order the cd eh? :D
Any ideas: have you emailed prager.m@pg.com ?

Have you re-downloaded? Because it is possible that during downloading files get damaged.

Sorry, no more ideas atm. :(

The genial ideas I have sometimes...

I checked Michael's site recently, and there's no more that link about ordering the CD. Emailing him isn't a bad idea though... Maybe he has some CDs in stock, for the incurable cases of stubborn players http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/bash.gif

Thankies, Jo http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/wave.gif
