View Full Version : can't play chronicles
hi!I fixed my computer last week and I tried to install tomb raider chronicles and last revelation, but didn't work. When I finish and try to play it gives the following message : ''failed to setup directx'' .I already got the new version of directx but it gives the same message.I don't know what else to do.

update your video-card drivers. right mouse click on desktop, then select properties > settings > advanced > adapter info to ID you video-card. note the details to this thead and I'll locate your drivers.
I don't know if this is what you're asking for, but I think it is. I did what you told me and the adapter is SiS 630/730

sphinx. the below URL is a link to SIS630/730 drivers on a Jetway motherboard. Scroll down to the second table and then select your operating system and the appropriate video-card drivers. download and unzip the file (www.winzip.com if you don't have winzip installed) then run the setup file. installation is pretty seemless, if you run into any probs, return to this thread. don't forget to read the readme.txt file in the zip file and be sure to reboot your machine upon update. good luck!

I did what you told me, but didn't work, the same message ''failed to setup directx''. Is there anything else I can do??? this message comes when I play with hardware acceleration, when I choose software mode nothing happens, so if there's nothing I can do I can still play this way...thanks anyway!

sphinx. re-install DirectX from the CD. also, bear with me while I investigate further options.
you mean reinstall from the tomb raider chronicles cd??
I downloaded and installed directx 8.1 but didn't work.I don't know whats happening, because I am only having this problem with tombraider...
I tried to reinstall directx from the cd but didn't work...do you have any other idea of why this is happening?
