Hey all!! I downloaded a screensaver from Laracroft online that has some pictures of Tomb Raider 2 and the music of Korn, but when I try to install it it says that my Windows Media Player doesn't read the .mp3 files. I just want to know what version of windows media player can read de mp3 files. I downloaded the Windos Media player 9.0 but there is a problem installing it. It says that is not compatible with my version. Please I need help. Thanks
What OS have you got, and what WMP version? Which version does WMP 9 say it's not compatible with?
I used to run WMP 9 on Win 98 SE with no problem at all. Maybe the error you get has to do with an issue not related to WMP itself.
Are you using any other media players besides the Windows one?

Hi Boaz's boyfriend!! Thanks for your response. What does SO means? How do I know what WMP version I have? What I can tell you is that I use Microsoft ME and when I try to install WMP 9.0 it says that the package is not compatible with the version that I am using. Thanks.
Hi. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/wave.gif
OS is your operating system (Windows ME). http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
You'll find out which WMP version you have if you open WMP, maximise the view if you're using a skin (you can maximise it by pressing the two little squares with an arrow on them, usually on the bottom right corner) or just right-click anywhere within the WMP window and then go Help --> About (or Info). You should see a number like 7.00.00.xxxx (the last four digits may vary).
If the number is 8:00:00.xxxx instead, you could perhaps skip installing WMP 9 altogether and just download the WMP 9 Series codec package from here: Codecs Installation Packages (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/format/codecdownload.aspx)
On the other hand, if you've tried uninstalling the WMP version you already have before installing WMP 9, chances are the programme has been corrupted. Try removing it via Add/Remove --> Windows Setup in Control Panel and reinstalling it from the Win ME CD, and then install WMP 9 over it (you'll just have to uncheck the square to the left of Windows Media Player, press OK or Apply, restart the PC, then go to Add/Remove --> Windows Setup again and recheck the WMP. You'll need the ME installation CD in order to reinstall WMP, so remember to have it handy).
Now if neither of the version numbers above look like the one you have, you may need to download and install WMP 7.1 and then WMP 9 over 7.1. You can get WMP 7.1 here: Windows Media Player 7.1 (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/software/playerV7.aspx)
