I've got this annoying porn site that keeps loading itself up in a new window whenever I'm on the net.

How do you block a web address??

Scott you need to perform some scans as it seems you've got something on your pc you don't want.

Download Spybot S & D (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=download), update the definitions for the program and scan, allowing it to remove items it finds. Also make use of the Imunize feature you will find in the Tools sectiion when running the program in Advanced mode (found on the top menu).

Also download Ad-aware SE (http://www.download.com/3000-2144-10045910.html) and update it's program reference file and perform a scan, again, allowing it to remove what it finds. Having done these things, it's advisabe to perform secondary scans with both of the programs to ensure that your system is clean.

Thereafter, assuming the nasties have gone, run your system two or three times. When you are content that all is well, you need to clear your System Restore points (you do use XP don't you?), as the nasties will be backed up there and you don't want them to get back on your system.

It is also advisable for you to update your Anti-virus program and perform a full system scan.

A useful program to help you avoid getting such things in the first place is SpywareBlaster (http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html) Again, install and update the program's reference files, and then institute it's protective measures. This program does not stay resident in memory, so will not impinge upon your system performance.

Let us know how things go.

Well, delete its cookie from your pc to begin with. You see, these sites are so agressive as bacteriae that give you a cold before you know. Have you installed Ad Aware SE (http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download/) and Spybot Search & Destroy (http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html) ?[/] Run them both.
To prevent spyware and such to sneak into your pc, also install Spywareblaster (http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html) . Good Luck! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/wave.gif

Hi Joseph http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif No, not busy at all. It's nice to have a few things to reply to. A few I've not said a word in recently. I was feeling left out :D

Hi Scott,

Use the tools Jo and Net have already mentioned, but I would also recommend Avant Browser (http://www.avantbrowser.com/) which includes ad blockers, popup blockers etc.

It's the best IE browser I have come across. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/wave.gif
