View Full Version : New format for TR
I was just curious if anyone thought about this idea like I have?
I just bought the new PS2 Tomb Raider: Angle of Darkness video game and was wondering how neat it would be if Eidos re-released the original Tomb Raider in the PS2 format.
Keep the game the same in every way except for the graphics. Maybe have the sounds and music in Dolby 5.1 for surround sound.
I think the first TR is my favorite.
Just imagine the T-Rex chasing you with PS2 graphics and hearing the 'thumping' of his foot steps in surround sound! Oh that would be great!
So, I guess my question would be, would anyone buy TR if it had todays graphics? I know I would.

I was thinking about this a few days ago about the PC version. I can't play the original TR because my computer is too powerful and TR wasn't written for Win 98. The opposite of AOD really!
It would be great if they would re-release it for todays computers (with Unfin Bus) even if the graphics weren't vastly improved (but that would be a great bonus!)
I'd buy it!
http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/wave.gif Hi I'm new here! and HELP!! I became addicted to Tomb Raider when I downloaded a demo. My kids bought me TRLR and Chronicles for PC for my Birthday. Yes...my kids! Took me a while to master the control keys. I have been waiting patiently  NOT!! for the new game and now I find out my computer doesn't meet the requirements! How can I play the new game on this old computer? Cheapest possible way please! I have windows 98. I can get windows xp from my son but what about the rest? I have 160MB ram 533MHZ, 128 KB 8.4GB 40X, 3D AGP and 56K. Don't ask me what all that means? I just read it off of the computer. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/redface.gif Don't tell me to get a PS2. I've tried it and I can't get used to the controller. Somebody please help an old lady
Hi jeocan, welcome to the forum http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/wave.gif
I'm not sure about the graphic card, but all other components are fast enough to run all Tomb Raider games except the Tomb Raider AOD. So you may need to upgrade your graphic card only.
You may install Windows XP on your computer without any problems, but it's better that you stay on Windows 98, XP will run more slowly on 533MHz than Win98.
BTW, what kind of problems do you have run TRLR and TRC?
...how neat it would be if Eidos re-released the original Tomb Raider in the PS2 format.
QB]Voila! They already have something that updates the origional Tomb raider...Its called Glidos. I asked the same question a while ago and I was told to download Glidos.
I havent tried it yet, turns out I lost my TR CD a few days before I downloaded Glidos...so I dont know if it works well. :(

Glidos works amazingly well!!
I've been hoping for that for some time now.
I'm in love with the original game. The storyline rocked, the villain rocked, the PLOT MADE ME WANT TO CRY IN ECSTASY! I loved it! I also think Lara was a bit more noble and less... crazy-psycho-destructive? in the first game. Just my opinion...
So how does Glidos work? I don't understand. Does it make it look like Last Revelation graphics-wise?
