Am having same problem as other users with game crashing when I use the look button. I assume from what I've read that this means I need to upgrade my driver. Is Direct X my driver? Also the upgrade page for Direct X posts a warning that once you upgrade to Direct X 8.0 (I currently have 7.0) you can't go back without completely reinstalling your operating system. Is this something to be concerned about?

I have:

Direct X 7.0

ATI Rage Pro AGP 2X -- Approx Total Mem 8.0MB

128.0 MB of RAM

System Resources 74% Free

Output Settings: Microsoft Direct3D Hardware Acceleration through Direct3D HAL

Output Resolution 640 x 480 16 Bit

Texture Bit: RGBA5551

Hardware Application and Bilenear filter checked. (tried game with filter off, still crashed)

Primary sound card (My sound card is Turtle Beach)

Also tried uninstalling previous TRs and reinstalling TRC, still crashed.

Also crashes whether number lock is on or off.

Thanks,
Susan

Susan. The driver is specific to your ATI video card, and since you already have DirectX 7.0 installed, it's your cards' driver that probably needs updated.

ATI Rage Pro come is five different flavours, the drivers for you card can be found here
http://support.atitech.ca/products/pc/graphics/index.html

Enter the Rage Pro section, then pick the correct file for your card (they will list versions for you)

Download the file and run. You system will require a reboot, and you will be prompted to do this. Upon reboot, you system now has the latest ATI drivers and the game should run fine. The instalation is pretty easy as everything is prompted on screen.
