Does any one know how to use VPN over the internet?

I have set up a VPN server on my machine and my brother has set up a VPN client on his side.

He can connect to my machine, but how can he access my files/folders etc.

Enable Windows Print & File Sharing, but BE CAREFUL to password your folders. Properties on Network Connection will take you to the installed protocols.

Again, make your folders secure, preferably with NTFS and NOT FAT32.

I already have windows print & file sharing enabled, as I have a LAN setup running over 2 local machines and internet access for my PS2.

He says he can not see any shared folders etc. I mite have to go to his house and see what’s going on his end, he does not live that far away, maybe it’s something he is not doing right.

Or is it your router maybe? Hardware firewall in it?

Shouldn't you 'allow' his IP to your network?

I fixed the problems I had regarding the firewall, he could not establish a connection to begin with, he can now sucessfully connect to my machine, His name shows up on my pc as an incomming connection.

He says he can not access any folders on my pc.

Hi Henhead, first off. I am no expert, lol.

First off, am i correct in thinking your brothers machine is displayed in 'My Network Places' as a folder?

Have you got access to all of his file on his machine? Or just some?

I think you have to drag and drop the nessary files to a shared folder or create a new one you can both access. As well as both change and edit the files.

Could i see a screen shot, i have done this before at college but just cnt remember.
