Yeah, I'm also having that problem since I bought a new computer. I've got Windows ME (Useless piece of software :lol) and a recently bought Sound Blaster card and I have absolutely no sound in any aspect of the game. Any ideas people?

I had the same problem because I didn`t know what my DMA IRQ or sound card were.On the instalation page if you highlight no sound card you can set the game manually if you know your settings. They come up as windows is starting ,when the comp is in DOS.Hope this sheds some light.

Ess audio is not well supported in TR1, it helps if you know dma and irq settings from control panel - system - sound card - properties - resources. usually dma 1 irq5 address 220h. There seems to be a problem with the latest ess cards that they are not driven by dos but the drivers are win 95 on specific. one possible solution is to restart the machine by selecting the restart option in win shut down dialogue and the opting for dos prompt in the restart options menu this seems to fool the sound chip into still working. This is a system problem I think not TR1 specific as I could not get a dos cd player to work the chip either.

thats good advice magil. stembob, you could also check your card manufacturers web site for the latest drivers for your card. The URL is below:
