View Full Version : blinking textures??? help!

hi, ive just been working on my first proper level and ive been having problems with textures.

i just created my own tga file with the texture editor and combined textures from trchronicles, tr3, and tr2 gold. i started texturing my first room and when i tested it in-game some of the textures where blinking on and off turning into textures from my tga which i hadnt even applied!

does anyone get what im talking about? and can any of you help me?

Sounds like there's an animation range assigned to your texture set. ;)

- To check this go to the lower right hand corner of the LE screen and click the Animation Ranges button.
- A window with all the textures from your TGA will pop up.

- An existing animation range is marked by a green frame around a couple of textures.
You can see two animation ranges in the above screenshot: for water and for the moving eyes from TR2 Barkhang Monastery.
- If there is such a frame you can delete it by leftclicking inside the frame, the frame will turn red, and then click on the Delete Range button.

The animation range should now be deleted (frame will be gone) and the flickering of textures should also be gone. ;)

Animation Ranges are used to get the animated water textures, or lava, or eyes, or cats running like in TR1 Gold, ... :D
