View Full Version : Cameras?

At the entrance to one of my rooms I've set a trigger to start up a flyby camera sequence. As Lara bursts in, some music plays and then the camera sequence starts up. However, once it's finished it's run, it starts again ... and again ... and again. It actually doesn't stop repeating the sequence.

Ok what haven't I done/pressed in the camera setup?

Thanks

When you placed the first camera in the sequence, you also created a trigger for the sequence at that point. Go back and click on the violet square in the Plan View (upper left)where the trigger is. When it says TRIGGER for camera, click the white text box next to the violet button. In the pop-up menu, click "One Shot". That should put the breaks on!

Dale, you are a star! Yep that did it.

However, the room the camera is travelling through is a stacked room. It's going from floor(room 1) to ceiling(room 2). As it passes between the two all the walls vanish for a second revealing the black nothingness that's between my rooms. Is there any way around this or is it just something that I'll have to live with?

Hmmmm.... this should NOT be happening. What you are describing is basically the same thing as the fly-by in the tutorial. It also goes through seveal port holes. Tell me a little more about what you did... settings, etc. Thanks.

Ok, here's what I did.

I set up a flyby camera in the rooms entrance - I'll call it room 1, this room is the ground floor. I pressed O and got the little menu up. I left the number of this camera 0, I left the speed as 1 and put 2 for sequence. On the bottom I pressed 9, 10.
I then added a second camera in room 2, the ceiling room. I called this camera 1 and sequence 2 still, on the bottom numbers I pressed 6.

I then set the trigger in the doorway for the first camera so that when Lara jogs in we get a bit of anim!! However, it seems as it passes through what is essentially the join between the floor room and the ceiling we lose walls for a split second.

I think that's all. If I think of anymore then I'll let you know.

Cheers

Dan... I could continue by asking question after question about your level, but it might be a lot easier to send it to me to look at. If you started by using an existing level, then I can easily load your projet file (*.PRJ) and take a look at what's going on. Just attach it to an email and I'll try and solve this dilema. Thanks.
