As previously posted, you CAN run custom levels without the TRLE but you need the Times Exclusive (TLR) level, which you can get from zdnet...
Go to: Program Files\Core Design\Tombraider Last Revelation-Times Exclusive Level (or something similiarly titled) Find and open the DATA folder.
Make sure you make a backup of the times "times.tr4" file there.
Then copy the new CUSTOM level (for example tut1.tr4) to the "data" folder of the times level.
Delete the original "times.tr4" there, and rename tut1.tr4 to times.tr4.
Start the times level, go thru the FMV intro, and start the level.
Save your game and you won't have to go thru the FMV intro.
