why is it that in all the tr games the trex simply grabs lara. Swing her about. Then drops her on the ground. Wouldn't it be more logical if she would get eaten whole? Is there any way to change this?

Well since the T-Rex isn't in any of the wads for TR 4 & 5 you can't do anything with it at all. TR 1-3 engines and animations are incompatible with the level editor.
