My level is finally completed!! Unfortunately it crashes whenever I started
to play it. You know at the first try the level was working fine although I
was always thrown away back to the desktop every time Lara died or when I
tried to load (I ignored this problem for I thought I will create the
script.dat files in the future. But when I already have created the .dat
files the game suddenly crashed EVERY time I tried to run Tomb4.exe. Now I
can't play my own level and the worst part is I've created a custom WAS
using TRWEST and I don't want to redo what I've created!!! Well, I moved a
lot animatings, architectures, and a few puzzle items complete with it
puzzledones and holes plus I have moved its data block in it's script (the
one with $0000,$0002,etc,etc) does this have anything to do with it? This
problem was occured after I put Lil'Kid's .dat files in the script directory
for his downloaded WADs, I have also created a level with a lot of moved
objects and it's working fine until now..... The worst thing is: everytime I create a new project, output, and then convert it and when I will play with it, the level crashed! This also happened to the rest of my custom levels (except for the downloaded levels, they worked fine) :(

Don't give up yet! There may still be hope.

What you've said here is a lot and some of it is confusing. It's very difficult sometimes to describe the events that have led to a catastrophy.

I can't begin to attack everything you've said all at once, so let's look at one thing at a time. If anyone else would like to help, that's fine also.

In your post you say, "But when I already have created the .dat files the game suddenly crashed EVERY time I tried to run Tomb4.exe." This seems to be a good place to start. Are you saying that you first noticed the problem after you created your dat files? Try and describe the events that took place from when the level ran okay up until the first time it wouldn't run. You've mentioned a lot of events and I'm not sure of what happened at what time?

The problem is complicated by the fact that you've also created a custom wad using TRwest.

Am I correct in saying that you can still load in your project, look at all of what you've created, and can output it all to a wad, but when you build it, the program crashes?

Well, all the building process is working fine (building project, outputting, converting, script.dat creating). But whenever I tried to play my very own level it just crashed!! Others are working just fine. Here's are the statistics of my projects: Lara has been placed in the level, the load camera coordinates has been directed to an existing room, script.dat has been created, every room only have maximum of 5 lights (and no more than 2 suns per room), amount of textures I am using is 21x8, the WAS I'm using is the combination of Karnak (Guardian Key), Cleopatra(Sarcophagus), coastal(both key items and it's holes and a few debrises), and library(the floor_trapdoor), and I'm using my own created .TOM file, the object textures limit are only 2.54 MB. Oh, I've tried to reduce the rooms numbers and the level has become playable (but not fully, considering I have reduced the room number to 1). Anything wrong with this?? Oh, I've also moved the puzzle's data blocks in the script for I've moved a few puzzle items, and if you like it I will send the files to you. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

This may or may not have an impact on what's happening. You mention no more than 2 suns per room. The manual says...

"SUN: Icon = Happy Face. The SUN light casts shadows and works well in outdoor settings. It can be used indoors for special effects; however, only one SUN can be placed in a room at a time or you will get an error
message when you go to output the WAD."

Let's start by correcting these. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

Well, it worked!! But one of my level still isn't working :( I used city.WAS for that level (not the revised version) and I placed it at the end of the script beneath the newcity data. I've read that I should put a level with city.WAS at proper order with another city.WAS level. What's that supposed to mean??
