What are the Broken Glasses for ?

I have a question regarding level 20 (Coastal Ruins Part II). When you go to climb up the inside of the column, on the floor is a pair of broken glasses you can pick up. What and where are these glasses used for? Any help appreciated.

I too found the glasses and retrieved them, but they seemed to be redundant for me also.

You don't do anything with them, you just carry it with you.

Did you notice in the movie trailer where we see trucks, helicopters and Vernor in his car, that a bunch of Lotus surrounds him and he gets posessed by Seth, he still has his glasses on.

The first time I picked up the Broken Glasses, I figured that they were Von Croy's and that he broke them when he slide down the ramp in the secret passage.

Even though Von Croy still has glasses in that one FMV, they could just be another pair.
