Trouble finding North for cheat codes

I have done everything correctly to get those cheats("w-e-a-p-o-n-s" and "g-u-n-s"). They still don't work. I really need these. I've tried pulling up on something facing north but my compass will never become clear. Could someone please tell me EXACTLY how to do it. Please don't reiterate what all of the cheats already say. I've tried all of that over and over. Thanx.

Although for most people the cheats work fine, a small group do not benefit from one or two of them not working. We are currently exploring alternative cheats for The Last Revelation, and will post those to the site when they are available.
In the meantime, at least one or two of the cheat codes work fine for everyone, and the best way to acheive success there is to follow the guide.
Again though, the difficult part is finding North. To do this with ease, find a North facing block or ledge (that's using the red needle) and either pull up or hang drop. Then release, and press the escape key (PC) or inventory key (PSX) to enter Lara's inventory screen. Follow through the keypresses from there.
