Reddrobbin, i'm not sure but I think it might be something to do with the graphics.

I'm saving up for a ps2 ready for trng, only got £60 so far need another £140!

prices should have dropped by Next Christmas, more than likely because the PS3 will be under design but also because the PS2 will be another year older. I wouldn't have thought the Sony games console will retain its current retail price.

I hope there won't be a ps3 because then the tr after trng will most probaly be on that and then I'll have to buy yet again another playstation!

Yeah.The ps2 cost £200 down here, unless you want a few games with it then it's like £220 and over! I think it's pathetic how much it costs!

I don't know if PS2 will take too much of a price drop. PS1 dropped down to $100 after it was out for awhile, but despite PS2 being out on the market PS1s still cost $100--the only difference is now they're made a little smaller.

You might also want to look on Ebay. Sometimes companies sell PS2 right out of the box, never been used.

Hi! £200 (GBP that is) for a PS2 is excellent money. Don't forget how much more powerful it is compared to the original, plus someone has to pay for the research and technology. The PS2 is also a good DVD player which would normally cost you around £150 on its own. The games that are coming out for the PS2 are fantastic. The only grumble is the cost of the games (£35 to £40). Mind you, they'll be cheaper than any Nintendo games which are a complete rip-off. ;)

I can't believe someone actually asked why it won't be out for the original Playstation. Probably because the original Playstation has a few limits on graphics and memory. I've only heard that Tomb Raider Next Generation will only be released on the PC and PS2. This is uncalled for. It should also be released on the XBOX with revamped graphics and internet play. I really hope it gets released on the XBOX because I just got one. I used to be impresed with the Playstation 2 a year ago. But ever sense they took forever to make them available I've turned on them. I mean, by the time they came out, the graphics weren't considered revolutionary anymore. Now the XBOX you can actually see blades of grass in the textures like in Halo. So I think Tomb Raider should also be released on it. Is there any plans for it?

yall r past dwellers buy ur PS2 in o=whatever currency you are using(prolly yen or something)i reccomend buying PS2 for any of the other games for it especially MGS2 that game is amazing. for me it used to be tomb raider first metal gear second but since chronicles ranked right up their with an atari game(aka a horrible game) ive had to switch my faves. lara better have some new moves and be able to be sufficient without some guns equipped, im the type of gamer that will do better work without guns and work more stealthly anyway... for you Hoyt XBoX is garbage they have not one game that holds a candle to decent PS2 game, XBOX is hard to control and is not revolutionary, i hope playing ur HALO(which in the terms of XBOX is pretty good) u get lost in ur blades of grass
