I guess u're friends are wrong , Crystal Dynamics made The Legacy of Kain and that was good , Crystal Dynamics may not be as popular as other game company's , it has enough strenght to make TR Legend a good game !

Tell you're friends they dont know what the hell they're talking about.

Crystal Dynamics was responsible for reviving the Gex series with "Enter The Gecko", and responsible for reviving the Kain series with "Soul Reaver". So if anyone is equipped to revive a dying series (Tomb Raider) then Crystal Dynamics are the crew.

the only thing they are guilty of is not releasing a million cr@ppy games every year.

Hmmm, this as big a high-profile chance for the Crystal Dynamics company to prove themselves as it is for Lara Croft -- their games in the past were high quality but not as publicized and mass marketed. But they were good games... from what we have seen so far I think they have outdone themselves with their task of rescuing TR from the toilet, wow! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/thumb.gif

Everything so far looks phenomenal, like the adventure loving tomb raiding Lara of the past, if the game handles as well as it looks, it wouldn't surprise me if TRL is one of the best selling games next year

In fact, if CD were an independent company, it would be well worth investing in them now and then see how much the stock price went up after TRL is released. But, since they are a subsidiary of Eidos, the share price depends on everything Eidos is making in a fiscal year so who knows

I think Crystal Dynamics will go down in history with the new Tombraider Legend. The Rebirth of Lara Croft The first lady og Playstation. Im so happy Tombraider is back on its feet! TOMBRAIDER TOMBRAIDER TOMBRAIDER!

To pull Tomb Raider's name out of the dirt like CD has done is no easy task. They have done an exceptional job so far. Even if the final game is a dissapointment, they at least deserve credit for trying to improve on something in the face of overwhelming cynisism.

I'll go so far as to say I now wish Crystal had been given the Tomb Raider franchise at the beginning of the PS2 era, rather than waiting for Core to really mess up with AOD! Not being an AOD fan myself--and seeing how great Legend is shaping up to be--makes me feel like there was at least one great Tomb Raider game we missed out on because these guys weren't at the helm! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

I agree with UT. Look at the interest CD have generated with Legend. Would there have been as much with AOD2? I doubt it. Give 'em a go!

Everything has its ups and downs, so did TR. Though having been AOD what made me a TR fan, I don't see it just as down as most do. And it's still selling where I live. Of course, it didn't sell as much as the previous installments, by far, but people, specially the ones working in game magazines, I suppose, love kicking something harder when it's down already.

Anyways, I too bow to Chrystal, as they seem to be doing a tremendous job. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

CD is a great company. It deserves everything good. If TR shapes up good, then I know they'll become even more popular.

But I think we would still have had a game better than AOD to play the first time around. I've waited so long to play a really good Tomb Raider game you know... Re: Arsony's post

IMHO I agree AOD is useful in a sort of "How Not to Make a TR Game" way. Are strength upgrades based on pushing blocks a good idea? No! Are empty city levels a good idea? No! So yes, the new developers have a great idea of what absoultely not to do... although it is a shame, I mean, the strenth upgrade by block pushing idea is just so bad, they didn't even need to put it in a TR game to know that it was bad, useless and frustrating....

speaking of which...

where's Raven for a nit-picking critique of Crystal Dynamic's latest 'failure' and why Core was a better designer? Maybe all the good press has scared away the cynical TRL nay-sayers!

But what do I know.

I can't say I know everything about CD but so far the glimpses we have seen of the new game are great. I have a much better feeling on how this game is going to turn out then I did with AOD. Rock on CD! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/thumb.gif

As long as the new Tomb Raider looks as amazing as the news is making it out to be, then who cares what the company. Yes, I was a little disapointed when I found out CORE ((or whoever)) wasn't making the new TR. but you know what? ITS A NEW TOMB RAIDER GAME! WOO!!! BE HAPPY!! yaya.
