I recently bought The Lost Artifact and for some reason am having difficulty with the bookcases. I have triggered all the tiles and opened all the doors but can not reach the last door before it closes. It seems that when I cross a certain area of the floor the door closes. There seems to be no time limit. If I wait all day the door won't close, but as soon as step across a certain area it shuts, leaving me not even close to the door, as a matter of fact I can't even make it inside that room before it closes. What's wrong?

Hmmmm..... Have you tried jumping over that area instead of running? Maybe your just doing the puzzle incorrectly. Let me tell you what the walkthrough says. Starting from the beginning. "Go through the bookshelves and head right onto a small alcove. This will trigger the bookshelves on the left, now go through into the small room and this will trigger the bookshelves on the north. Head through to the north bookshelves and take the shotgun ammo on the right. Now take the ammo on the left, this will trigger the bookshelves in the small room. Quickly run to that room and go into the secret area. If you were too slow, just go back to the north bookshelves and step on the left floor tile to open it again." So once you get going for that final door it is timmed. Try sprinting for the door and just before you get to the doorway do a diving roll. That always does the trick for closing doorways. Let me know how it goes!

Try this...

Proceed in to the alcove to the right. This opens the doorway on the opposite end. Turn around and go out around the left side of the bookcase ahead of you. Continue straight ahead through the door that you just opened. Entering this room automatically opens another door. Exit this room going left around the bookcase ahead of you. Continue forwards until you can turn left into the newly opened door. Snatch up both sets of shotgun shells. I'm not sure about a timed area, however, if you do as follows you can even just casually walk along. Step into the doorway by going to the right of the bookcase. Don't walk any farther. From here, do a standing jump ahead into the far left corner. Turn right and walk past the opening where you entered this library. Make a right turn just past the doorway, walking along a bookcase on your left. Make a left turn and enter the room ahead of you by going in on the right of the turned bookcase. The exit is on your right. Hope this helps.
