Personally, I think Peter Connelly did a sterling job at scoring The Angel Of Darkness. So what about the future games?

Could I have a link to his review if it's on the internet? :D

Nathan McCree. From a musician's point of view, AoD was horrible. It had the basic TR theme in there, but it was very muddled.

Yes. We interviewed him last year, bear with me while I search www.tombraiderchronicles.com (http://www.tombraiderchronicles.com) for the article.

HERE (http://www.tombraiderchronicles.com/headlines1059.html) is an interview on scoring Herdy Gerdy, an inspiring original soundtrack that accompanied Core Design's Disney-type adventure on the PS2.

Don't mean to spam this thread. Click HERE (http://www.tombraiderchronicles.com/cgi-bin/dl04/dl.pl?au_hg_maintheme) to download the theme to Herdy Gerdy. Isn't this a wonderful piece?

I loved the music from AoD, but Celli was right that it didn't have much motif development from the earlier music, which would have added to the game immensely.

Lady Ann, how about Chris Raider?

Definately Peter Connelly! They butchered the Tomb Raider theme on AOD.

I love the original music from Nathan, but I did enjoy the sorrow music from AOD, definately my style ;)

But, I would love just to have Nathan do it, it's that nostalgic factor

Lady Ann and Gonga - Whooa!

They only have to call me and I'm there!

Seriously though - I'm always interested when a music thread pops up on the forums, and none are more common than the McCree/Conelly debate.

I was enchanted my McCree's scores for the original games, but I'm also impressed with Connelly's contribution from TR:LR and onwards.

I think Conelly has done a damn good job picking up the mantle from McCree. He knew (as Core/Eidos would have done) that he had a 'tough act to follow' and that millions of fans would be casting a critical ear over his work. It was a brave move for all involved, and in my opinion it paid off.

You can't knock for example, the score to TR:LR. The opening theme is classic TR, and the in-game music with it's Egyptian-style overtones matches the mood and environment perfectly. Easily as good as McCree's output.

We have AOD: this time making the leap to a real orchestra (no going back now!). This opened up a whole new aural dimension in it's move from the synthesised to the real. Most of the time you feel like you're in a film - maybe just interacting with it on an outer level - and this is partly due to the music. It's cinematic.

So, Lady Ann and Gonga - I'll come if they ask me, but I think they'll do well with Conelly for the time being!

I too would prefer McCree. The AOD music was great and it went really well with the game and the plot(but the Serpent Rouge music was AWFUL http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/yuck.gif ) But the original TR music brings back load of good memories and it's so classic :D

I do like the gloomy music of AOD, but the original TR theme is a classic, and there are certain music pieces (ie, 'Venice Violins' from TR2, the 'Egyptian Mood' themes and the 'Boss fight' theme from The Last Revelation, the 'Jungle' theme from TR3) that are beautiful and unbeatable. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

The AOD music was great, but my vote goes to Nathan McCree (real TR style).
