It may just be me, but it seems like in AOD there were hardly any puzzles & traps. TR4 had puzzles and traps coming out of it's ears, if you know what I mean. What do you reckon, more puzzles & traps, or not?

http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/wave.gif Actually, there were puzzles and traps in aod  . Think of those symbols in the archelogicol dig level and the statues in the vault of trophies. And there were traps in the basement of the hall of seasons and spike traps in the beginning of Eckarhdt's Lab and in Neptune's Hall, I don't know if the lasers in the Louvre count. I admit that they weren't enough. They should stick with puzzles and traps, but mostley in the tombs, and bring back the classic boulder http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/jumper.gif .

They should put a puzzle something like the Breath of Hades but make the wooden logs a little bit wider. And when Lara goes to the end of the puzzle and collect the artifact, the tomb should collapse so Lara will have to jump extremely quickly back onto the logs.

I thought AOD had a good set of traps and physical puzzles, more mental puzzles would be REALLY REALLY AWESOME :D

And more timed jumps, but just not like the burners in TR2  And it has to be possible to make better traps than the spiked walls/ceilings http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/yuck.gif

By the way (I'm feeling inspired), no more traps with changing camera angles, it's already hard to control Lara but trying to escape a giant boulder with the camera starting on your back, than going on your right, than in front of you... is a really frustrating experience. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

Yea there definately needs to be more puzzles and traps. The hardest level on AOD was the Hall Of Seasons and even that wasn't extremely difficult. There needs to be more routes you can take in the levels as well.

Traps
I agree that these things are crucial components to what TR is all about, but you have to design the level around the type of area you're in. You can't have rolling boulders and spike pits in a Parisian backstreet, for example. A lot of the locations in the first half of AOD (I'm not at the second half yet) were places where these kind of things just weren't possible. And remember, when the Hall of Seasons came along and the designers finally did have scope to put traps in,they went competely overboard to make up for what had gone before and put a whole bunch in.

Puzzles
Fetching this key to open that chasity belt to discover the Anicent bush air that if placed on top of Soloman's Archway will make the Tower of Pisa fall down and open up the hole to the abanodoned underground monorail, can only stimulate the brain for so long. Personally, I'd like to see more puzzles like the Midas gold thing. There was some decent enough stuff in AOD, though. The nightclub bit made you think your through, and I liked the peering through the security cameras to get the office code.

I liked the puzzles in TRLR, they were very challenging. I hope in the next game there were will more puzzles. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/wave.gif

NOTE: I know this hasn't been mentioned for a long time...OK, a very long time, but I had to bring it back up. The puzzles and traps in TR6 were basically boring. I can't remember who said this, but in the parsian back streets, you REALLy can't have traps all over the place...but then when you got to the Hall of Seasons, they went hay-wild with the traps...it was the hardest level (with traps and such) and yet it was very easy. (Yes, I know someone said that too!! ;-)
