View Full Version : Enemies
What sort of enemies would you like/not like Lara to meet in a new game???? New ones(never encountered before) or bring old ones(like the T-Rex) back??? Which do you prefer: human enemies or animals/creatures????

I'd like a healthy selection of human, animal and supernatural enemies.
Nothing as scary as those Yetis in TR2 though - they were terrifying!

Human enemies, with the AI of the Cleaner. It would be fascinating if all of Lara's enemies would be that smart. ;)

I agree - more smart human enemies and less of those scorpions and rats (they give me the creeps). And please - don't want to meet Boaz again. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/violent.gif
But if if we have smarter human enemies we might need more advanced weapons? Any suggestions?

I agree, the human enemies should be smarter than they are in most other TR games where they spend forever to turn around while Lara is blasting off at their backs  But enemies I wish to never meet again are the walking, armoured tanks from VCI....not only are they impossible to kill if you don't aim at their heads, but their weapons are also way better than yours, especially at close range  If they should be a part of the game, then at least ditch those Lara-frying laserguns http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/violent.gif And out with the bats and rats from TRC which cost you health but you can't kill!!!
I'd love more timed runs though, but never again like those timed burners at TR2.....they can make it hard enough without having to put her on fire http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/yuck.gif

If you have good vision and good ears , youl see that all the TR games are just a story , and itīs supposed that are going to be Nephilims creatures and humans.

Hope that Nephilims are going to be like the enemies in the last DooM game. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

The rats and scorpions were just a hassle. You waste your bullets killing them.
Maybe she could go back to China so the statues (like in Floating Isalnds ;) ) would return. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif I thought they were pretty good.
Aside from those, I'm really not in favor of supernatural enemies. The skeleton things, mutants, and the giant fish thing all in AoD were not my favorite enemies. They rank near the yetis.

Statue warriors coming to life??? No, thanks!! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
Well, maybe yes... But only as long as they don't have those giant lances http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/whistle.gif
As long as you're not going after then with just pistols...and no health packs. ;) :D
I think we need another dose of dinos again http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
Why not break into a neonazis' nest http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/yuck.gif if we do have to shoot at people?
Did anyone read David Brin "the Postman"?
(Highly recommended)
Why not help to make the struggling world to get better and clean out a survivalists' camp? http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/mischievous.gif

I'd like more mutants, demons, undead and freaks in general, the freakier the better :D And yes, smarter human enemies.

Yeah, the wierd stuff is always the best.
I love the demigods from TRLR, stuff that looks cool like them.

Another Lara. Fighting that bronze Lara was the coolest part of any TR game IMO. A really beautiful scene. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/thumb.gif
It shoud be human enemis with less powerful weapons http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/pistol.gif

Human and supernatural creatures. 70%-30%, respectively. Leave out the animals, and supernatural animals (Big fish thing, rolling centepieds, etc.).
But honestly, anything with decent AI would work. TR has always failed in that area. In AoD, the enemy that gave me the most difficulty, besides Boaz, of course, was the Cleaner. And he didn't even have decent AI, he just had a powerful weapon and scripted timing to run.
I want some thing that's realy going to creep me out the first time i see it, like the dinos(i'd just seen the first jurasic park the month before  ) but i also like human enimies, like mabe a helper like in revilations, but then they betray you!! i think it would be cool if they took the conversation thing futher, and you could hinge a whole game on weather you end up killing some one or not. (not like in AOD where the convo differd, but the net result was the same) http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/grouphug.gif http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/jumper.gif
T-REX like creature. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/pistol.gif
I loved the enemyes in TR1: the wolves, bats, bears, panthers, gorilas, mummies... and all those (in danger of extinct http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif ) animals like in TR2 or 3... that is the kind of stuff that a tomb rider should encounter to fight... and yes: some weird creatures, but not so much humans; she is a Tomb Raider, not a serial killer or terminator.
