I really hope that CD dosen't carry on with the 'hand' thing. It really spoiled my gameplay thus in rushing through the game instead of spending time looking around.
Does anyone else agree?

I definetely second that opinion. It might be good in other games, but it does NOT belong in TR http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

Word sisters.

The hand was terrible.

the main things i loved about TR (except aod of course) was solving puzzles and exploring the areas looking for something. thats what used to make TR so special. and that hand slaps us fans right in the face (im creative today :D ) :(

remove it please! or atleast let us choose whether to use it or not @ options menu!

[EDIT: spelling...]

It's useless. I think that most of the times it confuses you instead of helping you. I've met this feature in "Indiana Jones & The Emperor's Tomb" too, and even in that game I thought it was unnecessary.

Tell me somthing, how is the player going to know when to click open, or even where is the stuff located at. There's got to be something that tells the others (not so intlligent people) where stuff is, when to click. So i think either way they are going to invent or stay with it. Just for the purpose of helping people. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/wave.gif

But what about all the previous TR games, where there was no hand icon to help you?? ;)

But i'm sure that there was something else to help you...wait is coming http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/mischievous.gif ...I know i hink that Lara turn her head to stare at the stuff, or she talked to you.

But I only remember that to have happened a couple of times in TRC.
I say get rid of the hand. It almost kills my curiosity of all the details when entering a new place. You end up running around to see if a hand shows up at the bottom of the screen instead of exploring every detail in the game. One of the things I liked in the earlier games. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/privateeye.gif

That hand realy dulled the game
I hated it, it made you feel rather silly being told that you had to do something
I liked it when you actually had to try out things to see if they worked or not ;)
When you look at it there were an awfull lot of fustrating things in AOD :( http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/bash.gif

The hand is kind of patronising:

'Look you IDIOT, there's something to pick up here! Look, right here! Look! Go on, pick it up you moron!'

Thumbs down for "The Hand"!
It spoils it for me, I like looking around for myself (even if sometimes it takes me ages to find something) :D

Ick. I didn't like that hand icon at all. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/yuck.gif Reasons:

1. Its colors did NOT match with the surroundings--I don't like finding bright things when I've been playing in a dark environment.

2. It was just UGLY!

3. Yes, I found it confusing, especially when I needed a key or something to open whatever the hand popped up for. XD

4. I've always played TR without it, so why add it now? It clutters up the screen! <.<

Well, at least I found it helpful when trying to find items out of the screen's eye shot [and I only found it useful then because AOD had some nasty camera angles!]. :(

It was kind of stupid having both the hand and coloured sparkles on objects. The game didn't need both! I say ditch the hand but make objects shine like in the lastest Resident Evil games, like glow slightly white but not too obvious. I thought it was funny when the hand came up when it ment you could talk to someone, it gave the impression that you could touch the person rather than talking to them http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/whistle.gif , speech bubbles would have been better. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

What does everyone think about the walk mode icon, should that stay or go? Personally I thought it was a good idea. I also think they need to make the picture clearer of what you have picked up too, it was too dark on AOD. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

I think the hand should be optional. There are areas where you can see as plain as day that something is right in-front of you, and there are some really dark areas in which you need it.
