I don't think it would look very realistic when you shoot with pistols underwater. But there should be more underwater weapons in the next game.

There ARE underwater guns. Take the ones in The Cradle of Life for example (at the begining). The only problem is that it has only a few shots and then it's done for. If you want to use it again you have to send it back to the company to reload it for you.
