I'd rather not see him as a playable character.
I prefer TR with just Lara, maybe with some interaction with others.
I really enjoyed Kurtis's part in the game. I didn't neccessarily enjoy playing him as a character, but I do like what he brings to the storyline of the game. It's cool to see Lara interacting with another person especially when they meet in the gallery.
I didn't like playing him for a few reasons though.
1. He's not Lara
2. He's moves horribly
3. I hate his crouching walk.
Other than that, I think he should be brought back for the next game.
I wouldn't mind Kurtis staying. He is a somewhat different (and not unwelcome) note, changing the tempo of the game and adding a different dimension to the philosophy of its action (although he's maybe exasperatingly slow sometimes http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif ).

Definately bring him back. Not just in the story though, I would like to play as him again. His levels brought variety to the game. I didn't get that terrified feeling in aod from any of lara's levels, but I jumped a few times fighting those mutants, and I missed that throughout Lara's levels. I think he's a great character, and his sarcasm reminded me of Lara. His slowness didn't bother me until Boaz. :mad: Why would they make you fight the hardest two bosses with the slower character. Anyway, I think him and Lara are a good pair so bring him back. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
Without Kurtis AOD would have been so much more boring. The main reason that kept me interested in AOD was the plot and Kurtis offered a little more depth to it. We really never get to see Lara around people she cares for so she seems cold and unfeeling most of the time. Kurtis brings out a different side to her that I enjoy seeing.

I enjoy what Kurtis brings to the storyline....in the previous TR games we have never seen Lara develop any kind of romantic interest, much like she does in the TR movies.
She always seems to have petty rivalries or a certain amount of distrust for the people she is most fond of, and i think its the tension wrought out of this that allows such an intriguing atmosphere to exist between the two characters.
Put more simply - they SOOOO want each other, and it adds so much to the game.

Well their on the 7th game so it probably won't be long before she really does stop tomb raiding. :(
I talked to someone from the KTEB site and they said someone on their forum contacted CD and sais Kurtis was coming back. :D
Soma, the 7th game is not the last one, so she is not stopping raiding. If you take a look back in TR1, you can see that many things have changed. But Lara getting romantically involved is too far away from what we have used to see until now.
I know that you like Kurtis as there are many people out there who also do. The fact that some other people don't like him shouldn't make you feeling like that. Besides, that's why we are here; we discuss about our likes and dislikes.

I know tr7 isn't the last game, but I just meant that the franchise is getting into high numbers. Personally I love Lara Croft and Tomb Raider and I wish they would never stop making them. One day there has to be an ending though. As for Kurtis, It doesn't matter how he fits into it. If him and Lara hook up or not. I think Lara should have a romantic interest. She needs more depth to her character. All she has going for her is her "I'll kick your ass" attitude.

I think Lara should have a romantic interest no way....i really don't see Lara having anything romantic to do with him...first,Lara doesn't really need him.She is much better without him.The game is WAY BETTER WITHOUT HIM.At first i didn't dislike Kurtis that much,but now when i played AOD http://mysmilies.creativesell.net/otn/puke/barfy.gif...i can't stand him.He ruined the game for me.I do not wish to see him in any other future Tomb Raider games.He doesn't fit in TR,he and Lara don't make good team or even couple...he is just...unnecessary and annoying character in AOD.
(don't take personal,Kurtis fans...just my opinion)

They should put Kurtis in the next game just to complete the trilogy. If they don't have him, the story will end. He is like the main point of the story.

Yes, Kurtis and Lara should have some sort of romantic interest like they did on AOD, but just played up a little more. It makes the game more mysterious and it makes Lara seem more like a real person. It spices the game up a bit lol. I don't want to see too much "spice" though haha.

At first I thought Kurtis was slightly annoying. He was just hanging around like a fly. Then he got more involved and I thought he made the whole plot a bit more interesting.
The way they acted towards each other in the Louvre was veeeery interesting. :D If something happened between them, personally, I wouldn't want them hanging all over each other like hormonal little teenagers. The way they leaned in for kiss and then suddenly realised the way they should be acting.. you know.. hatred towards one another sorta thing.. got me thinking.
I've read a few fan fics in the past couple of days and many of them are portraying Lara and Kurtis as though they have secret feelings for one another. And when those feelings eventually get out (for example, a kiss), they act as though it was nothing and go back to their bad attitudes. Yet they seem to keep going back to it again and again.
It's a little hard for me to explain. Just woke up and can't find the right words. Seem to be going nowhere. lol But if you want to know what I mean, check out this fan fic, here (http://www.fanfiction.net/read.php?storyid=1449515) . Doesn't really get into it until about the 9th or 10th chapter. It kinda like.. they hate each other with a sexual passion. lol

Kurtis is allright enough, but Tomb Raider is Lara`s game. I only want to see Lara in it! Kurtis can have his own game.

that story is horrible. I've read three chapters and I already find my self sickened with the interaction between lara and kurtis. I see what you mean by them hating each other, but being attracted. That's not a real love story. They like what they see and that's all. They couldn't continue a relationship on that.

Trent seems like he escaped from Hitman or some other Eidos franchise. He has definitely nothing to do with TR.

Eidos won't beat a dead horse. They're too scared to resurrect the old AOD story from the grave, for fear of repeating the big budget flop, and every hardcore gaming forum is echoing the same mantra, "No Kurtis, NO AOD," so you'll most likely never see him return.
I thought Joachim Karel was Kurtis?

It's the same to me whether he's there or not.
I kind of like him though I dislike the way he treated Lara in AoD.Not only the infamous Louvre scene but also the fight with Boaz.He said:"I'll give you a boost" or something like that and pushed her away in a I-am-the-man-I'll-take-care-of-the-problem-and-you-should-run-for-it manner.My jaw dropped to the floor when that happened.Then I realised that he just meant her to go after Eckhard but it still annoyed me...

My true vote would be undecided. On one hand, I like Kurtis a lot. On the other, he's just not the type of character that would fit into TR the way it is now and I cannot possibly imagine what role he could have in the Legend story. I would prefer to see him in his own game, as he is IMO interesting enough to be the star of the show rather than a side-character.
But, as undecided or other was not an option, I voted yes. Because I like Kurtis :)
EDIT: Wow, this poll is from 2004 :eek: Whoever dug it up had to dig deep indeed...but I guess it's still not completely irrelevant, so :)

Yes,he couldn't really fit in the Legend storyline.If we are to see him again it should be in an AoD continuation(if ever...)or his own game.
