Reunion, Mutagen Pool

I have gotten to the Mutagen pool. I cannot find my way safely across the pool. I have checked the walk through and it says to use the flares or pistols to illuminate the translucent platforms. I guess my graphics aren't that great, because I can't tell the difference. Can anyone help me to get across? Is there a path that I can follow, like two forward, one left... that sort of thing. Any help would be appreciated.

If you are facing the middle of the pool, go to your right about half way between the center and the wall. Turn and face the pool and get as close to the pool as you can. Using a flare should illuminate the step. Jump to the first step. Once you get to the first step continue forward to the very edge and look for the next step. Jump to the next step. Continue doing this until you get to the other side.
