My fanfic-AoD continuation

OK, so I wanted to write a continuation of the AoD storyline, but I also wanted to do something a bit different, so I came up with the idea of an alternate ending to AoD where Lara gives into her dark side and accepts Karel's offer to join him. I don't think Lara would really do that, but it's meant to be a sort of parallel universe story.

Jordana, i haven't had time to read your fanfic yet, i was going to read it yesterday but, i was alittle emotional as my best friend is moving away to Jersey and i won't be able to see her any more which is obviously very upsetting, :( so i'll try and read it tonight. :D

Sorry to hear about your friend moving away. My best friend from primary school moved to switzerland when we left and then another of my friends a few years ago moved to Spain. But we still keep in contact and it is really the most exciting thing ever when they come to visit or vice-versa. I think when you have been friends with someone for a long time that you take it for granted that they will always be there. A couple of years ago my friends all went to University and I took a couple of years out and it was tough at first not having anyone around but we all still keep in touch and we make the most of our time together in the holidays http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif so don't worry chook xxx

Jordana, i just read your fan-fic and so far i really like it. I like the way that Lara was reluctant to stab Kurtis with the shard, because it shows that she is still compasionate towards him, and still has good in her.
I think she'll have conflict where Karel, will keep urging her to Kil Kurtis ad she won't want to as she has grown ond of him and wouldn't want to betray his friendship, therfore she wont compleatly be on the side of good or bad......

This is by far the greatest Fan-fic I've ever read.

The story and wording plays out each chapter very nicely, leaving me wondering and hoping for what was going to happen next. The connection you've created between Lara and Karel is simply amazing, making me fall in love with his "Silent-Intelligent-Dangerous, yet caring" type.

I cannot wait for another chapter, and I'm praying somehow this story gets turned into a movie (Unlikey I know yes) but it simply wonderful. Very good job.

*blush* Thanks so much guys, I really appreciate your feedback! The main reason I wanted to write this story in particular was to explore Karel's character more, in a way not possible to do if he's just The Enemy.

I feel encouraged by reading your comments. I'm a very slow writer, because I don't get a lot of free time and I find it really hard to concentrate on anything for longer than about 40 seconds...but chapter 6 should be up within the next week. Shame on me for taking so long!

Hazel. fanfic.net is free. I checked on that too. Im on there as well and I can't remember about age requirements but I dont think that you have to be that old...cause they have ratings warnings for the stories anyway. It's a great site, you really should join if you haven't already. God knows, Im anxious to read Jordana's update! hehe. but yeah, registering should be pretty easy, you come up with a name for yourself and click the agreement thingy and they send you a confirmation to your email and all that. and then you have it! by the way Jordana, I"m so glad that you did this story on Karel! Kudos. hehe, I almost am unsure of what that means, so long. anyway. it's fantastic and I miss it. :( hehe.

I originally anticipated my story being about 10 chapters. I now think it will be at least 15...it just keeps growing by itself as I write. I'm going for careful character development and build up of relationships and events, so your questions won't all be answered immediately, but they will be eventually. I absolutely loved ‘salvation’ I think it was because that sequel was also different, to most of them these days. I liked Ms Croft’s (filthy bunny’s) take on Kurtis’ character and the storyline and tension between Lara and Kurtis was brilliant! :D ;) It's a shame she never finished it though. :( I'd have liked to know how it all ended.

I’ll have to praise Filthy bunny on the Sani for her fab writing...and chiragal.... and horsecrazy...and all the other amazingly talents writers there! :D

Cool, Jordana. Fridays rock cuz it's the last day if the week, so that will definetly make this week fun. And it will make up for having my stupid gym class first thing in the morning. (rotated schedule, my school is WEIRD!) I really like Blood Like Ice, that's a good fic, has some nice action in it. Yeah, I think she did, Hazel. I had that pic as my background on my old computer. No internet, I just use that thing to play games, not Tomb Raider cuz those r on Playstation for me. Wellll- to tell the truth, Kurtie is going as neither. X3 Kurtis wasn't the one that shot Karel through the head in front of witnesses, therefore he isn't wanted by the police (per se...he isn't really 'noticed' in the investigation of the Louvre incident). So he's going to be our raven haired beauty for quite awhile.

Sylvain bought both colours so Lara could choose; naturally, she'll be using the black. ;)

The rest isn't done yet, I'm writing as I go along...and I'm not a fast writer, mainly cause I work full time, have a husband and am also a church treasurer so I don't get a lot of time, and I need lots of sleep too.

I'm really enjoying this story though. I wish I could update more quickly, but I think at best there's gonna be a new chapter every 3/4 weeks. Hang in there though, it will be worth it.

Wow, it's been a while since I posted in this thread..but since I've just updated the story with chapter nine, I thought I'd bump it up again.

A quick recap: it's called Reborn in Shadow, and it's an alternate ending to AoD, where Lara accepts Karel's offer to join him, and things get very interesting from then on. Chapter ten is in the final stages of being tweaked and polished, too.

Hiya Jordy! Haven't been here for a while.Just want to say that I have been following your fic and I like it as its unique! I like the way you’ve got Karel’s and Lara’s relationship going. I’m just waiting for some HUGE twist where Kurtis returns or something like that. Loved this chapter, especially the ending! I like how you’ve described Karel’s past and stuff with the Nephilim it seems you’ve really out a lot of research and work into it!

I know I keep saying this, but Kurtis will be back eventually...but the way I have the plot worked out means it won't be within the next few chapters :( I think he's great as well, but there's a reason he's not around at the moment *wink*
