Well it's obviously nice artwork and excellent idea of including different perspective views of this scene, great! What is the real meaning of it? BTW, the death is really there or it's only his imagination? Interesting idea, Mona. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/thumb.gif

Very well drawn! I like the puzzle idea. So, is the 'death' really behind him?

Maybe not physically, but my idea was to draw a guy realizing his time is up in a dark "oh ****" way - perhaps he's even sealing his own fate by solving the jigsaw? But it's really open to anyone's interpretation, I prefer not to give an "official" way to look at it.

The way I interpet your drawing is that after your death you will be what you were before your birth. Ultimately, death must triumph, for by birth it has already become our lot and it plays with its prey only for a while before swallowing it up. However, we continue our life with great interest and much solicitude as long as possibleó just as we blow out a soap-bubble as long and as large as possible, although with the perfect certainty that it will burst.

Every time a man is begotten and born, the clock of human life is wound up anew to repeat once more its same old tune that has already been played unnumerable times, movement by movement and measure by measure, with insignificant variations. In such an irrational world, however, there exists a morality which is necessarily ascetic and nullifying. In a pessimistic morality there is no glorification of life, but nullification and destruction of the will to live. Indeed, if the root of all evils is the will to live, there is no other escape, no other remedy than to suppress this will. Thus the man feels that he is one with all men, as in truth he is, by reason of the unity of the Universal Will from which everyone proceeds. Art suspends will, ethics mortifies it, ascetics nullifies it.

The lamp clearly is an allegory of God, and the jigsaw puzzle itself is a mirror of the man's soul. Therefore I believe that your drawing shows that the tragedy of life arises from the nature of the will, which constantly urges the individual toward the satisfaction of successive goals, none of which can provide permanent satisfaction for the infinite activity of the life force, or will. suspension, of the will through asceticism. Well done! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/thumb.gif

Wow, I just realized that was a jigsaw! That's kind of an optical illusion! Okay, my computer's about to freeze, so it didn't completely load the pic (I appoligize if this is a stupid question, but I can't see). Is there a bottle of pills next to him on the table? That's a really amazing drawing! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/thumb.gif

No idea. I was drawing over a period of a week or two, always a little bit at a time.
